    1. Password setting.

After finishing the document input work, open the "Tools (T)" bar in the excel menu, select "Protect (P)" in the drop-down list box, there are three protection methods in the submenu: (Protect Worksheet (P), Protect Workbook (W) and Protect and Share Workbook (S), these three ways have different functions, here select "Protect Workbook (W)".

In the pop-up dialog box (protect the workbook), select the checkboxes of "Structure (S)" and "Window (W)", enter your password in "Password (optional) (p)", and click the "OK" button.

Enter the password in the Confirm Password dialog box to confirm, and click OK to complete the password setting for the protection workbook.

Click the "Window (W)" column in the Excel menu and select "Hide (H)" in the drop-down list.

Enter your password in the dialog box that pops up (the password must be the same as the one entered above).

Click the "OK" button, and the password is set successfully.

After the password is set successfully, the workspace in Excel will not be visible and cannot be saved directly. Don't be afraid, just click Close on the title bar, and select the "Yes (Y)" button in the pop-up warning dialog box to save it. Your files and passwords will be automatically saved.

Once the password is set, no one else will be able to open your excel document.

Second, the encrypted Excel file is not convenient in Word when opening, and you can't directly enter the password to open it, and the opening steps are just the opposite of the encrypted steps. First, open the Excel file you have encrypted and saved, select "Unhide" from the drop-down menu in the "Window (W)" bar, select your file in the "Redisplay Hidden Workbook Window (U)", and click "OK". Enter the password in the dialog box, click "OK", and the document will open.

However, there are no Maximize, Minimize, and Close buttons on the title bar in the workspace. You must select Unprotect Workbook (W) in Tools Protect Unprotect Workbook so that the workspace appears normal and you can modify your document.
