Install XP first, and then install Windows 7, it's best not to do it the other way around, otherwise XP won't overwrite the Windows 7 startup manager, which will be more troublesome. In short, follow the "old version to new version" installation principle.
XP under the hard disk to install Windows 7, you can try it:
1. XP is installed in C disk, Windows 7 is installed in non-C disk, for example: E disk, the disk must be a blank disk in NTFS format (if some data is not completely cleared, please quickly format it once before installation, so as to avoid errors in the installation process), the size is more than 16G, 20G is recommended.
2. Put the best image on the non-Windows 7 installation disk, decompress it directly with Winrar, get a folder, double-click the setup inside the run, click "Next", and then follow the prompts to do it, the installation process will be restarted several times, the whole installation process will take about 20 minutes, and the installation time will be different for different configurations. (Special reminder: Do not select upgrade during the installation process, "select custom", and then select the disk where you are ready to install Windows 7 in advance, e.g
E disk. In addition, the activation code is not filled in first, just click "Next", and then use the "Activation Tool" to activate it after the installation is completed. )
3. After the installation is completed, reboot and you will see two selection menus, the first one is Earlier Version of Windows
i.e. the early operating system Windows XP; The second is Windows 7, and the default system is Windows 7, and the waiting time is 30 seconds. At this point, a perfect dual system was born.
I would like to know more about it here.
Check it out inside, I hope it will help you.

There seem to be a lot of startup items created with ntbootautofix, and there are duplicate ones.
Then modify the boot screen with easyBCD.
Both programs are very small, you go to the Internet and search for them, a lot.

The boot menu is not post-production, but automatically survives when the operating system is installed.
If you encounter such a problem, you can use a tool (the general USB flash drive PE system has) to fix the boot menu.
Click on Repair Hard Drive Boot Tool.
Click Auto Repair and restart your computer to fix it.

Do you have to make your own boot menu for dual systems?! I've installed n dual systems (there are single hard disk dual systems, there are also dual hard disk dual systems, you can go from win7 to xp, you can also from xp to win7) and there has never been a situation you said. Give me some experience in installing dual systems, maybe it will help you a little:
First of all, I want to explain to you that the system you mentioned later is in the C drive, which is very normal! Under Win7, the C drive of XP is generally automatically hidden.
Here are a few things you need to pay attention to during the installation process:
1. All the drivers of XP and Win7 systems should be installed under their respective system installation disks. Because most drivers are divided into XP and Win7.
2. Anti-virus software and security guards are best installed under their respective system installation disks (win7 is best to have more than 30g), and the office software can also be put under the system disk, and all other software can be placed outside the other non-system disks, but special attention should be paid to one point, that is, it must be placed in the same drive letter and directory, such as D disk under XP, and it should also be D disk under win7, and the same is true for others, you can achieve it by changing the drive letter, anyway, in addition to the system disk, The other drive letters are the same in both systems. In this way, the software can be called to each other under the two systems, and there is no need to reinstall it, and it will not be messy (but some such as office software need to be reinstalled once).
3. Before installing the dual system, you should set up the drive letter, such as XP in the C drive, then before installing Win7, you should change the drive letter to the existing existing drive letter (including the drive letter of the optical drive), it is best to set it to R or W drive, etc. This saves the second point above.

The easiest way to do this is to boot the menu with a dual system bcdautofix

1. XP system requires that the hard disk format can be FAT32 and NTFS format; But Win7 must be in NTFS format.
2. After installing Ghost XP to C drive, you can use Win7 installation version to install it to D drive.
3. As for the Win7 system space requirements, the actual space requirements should meet 40GB, instead of 30GB each for C and D, and the partition should be 40GB for C disk and 30GB for D disk, and the rest should be divided equally.
Fourth, as for the startup menu, there are many tutorials on the Internet, so I won't repeat them. Personally, it is recommended that you use a single system (Win7), of course, if the hardware conditions allow, you can install Microsoft's virtualization technology (Windows XP Mode).

Install dual system: only xp first and then win7
First of all, install the XP system on the C drive of the computer as the current system.
Divide the computer out of the D disk about 20G space to reserve the installation of Win7 (in fact, except for the original system C disk, other disks can be):
XP Split Under:
If there is about 20G NTFS format (this format is required) hard disk partition (win7 hard disk occupancy is very small about 10g, much less than VSITA), you can directly install win7 under this drive letter! If not, please look down, one, you can use the system installation disk to delete all partitions and re-partition; Second, you can also use the disk management under XP to adjust. To free up a blank partition, it is necessary to ensure that it is above 20G, because the adjustment of partition capacity is not supported under XP, you can only delete this blank partition and reallocate a partition of about 20G.
Install the virtual drive in the current system, here we recommend the use of "Rubik's Cube Computer Master", which comes with a virtual optical drive and will use its other functions later.
Use the virtual drive to load the iOS image file: If the display cannot be opened, find the virtual drive in the Rubik's Cube computer master and select to load the image;
Follow the prompts to install the system to the D drive, and select "What type of installation" in the middle of the request, please select "Custom", and select Upgrade to overwrite the XP.
After the system is installed, when you restart, there will be "earlier versions of Windows" and the following Windows 7, select XP above, and win7 below, so far the dual system installation is complete.
System name modification: Please be sure to install the Rubik's Cube after entering the win7 system.
Open the Rubik's Cube, press the application view to find "Settings Master" - System Settings - Multi-System Settings, and modify the name and default system.

You install the XP system to the C disk first,Install the win7 system to other disks on it,It's very simple, nothing difficult,You will。
Find a boot disk first, U disk, CD is OK, boot, if it's a Windows installation disk, boot to the console and run MBRFIX, if it's a DOS boot disk, use fdisk MBR, so that MBR is snatched from GRUB by Windows, and the boot goes directly into Windows. >>>More

Let's talk about the partition problem of the C disk first: you can partition it under window7, my computer right-click "Manage" - find the "Disk Management" under "Storage" - find the C disk - right-click, select "Compress Volume" - wait for a while (system calculation), and then follow the prompts and the size settings you want. >>>More
There are two ways to install a disc installation system: one is to install it with a system installation disk, and the other is to install it with a system clone disc. There are two installation methods: the former has a complex installation process and takes a long time, while the latter is simple and easy to install. The installation process is as follows: >>>More
