How do we make the new water we add to the aquarium become the old water? The simplest and most feasible way is to dry the water for a few days, open the circulating filtration system of the aquarium, and put a few fish to "break into the tank": that is, two or three cheap, strong, easy to raise, disease-free fish are stocked in the new aquarium, following the principle of less fish and less feeding.

After a few days, a certain amount of ammonia is produced in the water, at which point a small amount of commercial nitrifying bacteria can be added, and then fed for a few days, and then a small amount of nitrifying bacteria can be added. This is repeated several times, and the nitrifying bacteria can be established, and the new water will gradually become old water.

Fish must be disease-free and parasite-free, otherwise, there will be endless troubles!

Nitrifying bacteria are aerobic bacteria, so it is best to keep the oxygen pump and filter on during the water raising process. Since the ammonia content in the water is very low at the beginning, even if more nitrifying bacteria are added, they will die due to lack of food, so nitrifying bacteria should be added gradually. If you can get some of the bottom sand and filter cotton that are being used from the old aquarists and put them in the tank and filter, it will undoubtedly be of great benefit to accelerate the aging of the water.
