From: "Zi Nai Liang Zhi Tongjian: Tang Taizong Zhenguan Two Years".
Original text: "Shang (Tang Taizong) asked Wei Zheng and said: 'What is the reason for the master of the people, and what is the darkness?' He said: "If you listen to both, you will be clear, and if you believe partially, you will be dark." ’”
Interpretation: Tang Taizong asked Wei Zheng: "How can the monarch distinguish between right and wrong, and how can he be confused?" Wei Zheng replied: "If you listen to opinions extensively, you can distinguish between right and wrong, and if you believe in one person, you will be confused."
