I also had this problem two days ago, and it was useless to reinstall, and it was solved like this in the end:

Open a Word document in safe mode, go to Tools - Templates & Add-ins, and click "Select" at the back, and the dialog box will pop up to see the normal file (if it is not hidden, there will be two). Then just delete the file (both have to be deleted), and if it's hidden, you can remove the hidden stuff and find it again.

Here's how I solved it, I hope it will be useful to you.

It's not a software problem.,Kill it again with Kingsoft.,Optimize it again.,Reinstall word again.,If it doesn't work, reinstall the system.,It's absolutely OK.

    Three reasons:

    1. The memory of your computer system is low.

    2. The document you open or the content you want to copy is too large.

    3. Your computer is poisoned.

Make sure your Kingsoft virus database is up to date.

    Then try reinstalling the system.

If the Word document is already corrupted, then Word gets unresponsive while trying to open it. At this time, you can use a specialized file recovery converter provided by Word to recover the text from the corrupted document. To recover text from a damaged word document, follow these steps:

1.Click the Tools > Options > General tab, select the Confirm conversion on opening check box, OK.

2.Click Open in the common toolbar, and in the File Type drop-down list box, select the Recover text from any file option. If you don't see the option to Recover text from any file in the File Type box, you'll need to install the file converter.

3.Open the Word document as you normally would.

After you successfully open a corrupted document using a file converter, you can save it in Word format or other formatting (such as text format or HTML format), and the text in the paragraphs, headers, footers, footnotes, endnotes, and fields in the document will be restored to normal text, but not the document formatting, graphics, fields, graphic objects, and other non-text information.

If the file can be opened in safe mode, it means that the word should not be corrupted, which may be caused by a problem with the template file, which can be repaired as follows:

If that still doesn't work, then we recommend that you reinstall Office 2003.
