Why doesn t the space name appear on the web page?

Because of the need for collaborative proofreading, a ftp server was temporarily set up with serv-u, and when the configuration began, it was found that sometimes when using the ftp client tool, the Chinese directory and file name could not be displayed normally, and the phenomenon of uploading and ** could not be made. After exploration, it was found that this is because SERV-U7 uses UTF-8 encoded file paths by default, while some FTP clients (such as LeapFTP) do not use this encoding method by default.

By default, serv-u opens up a command called opts utf8 that can be used to disable OPTS UTF8 encoding in the current session by sending "opts utf8 off" on the client (command line or client tool command sending menu, e.g. leapftp).

However, a more straightforward approach would be to remove the UTF-8 encoding format from SERV-U by the following method:

1. Log in to the SERV-U management console and select "Configure Advanced FTP Command Design and Behavior for Domains" in "Restrictions and Settings".

2. Click the "Global Properties" button in the "FTP Settings" tab of the pop-up page.

3. In the "Advanced Options" tab of the "FTP Command Properties" dialog box, cancel the box before "Use UTF-8 encoding for all sent and received paths and file names", and OK.

However, there are two more points that need to be added:

First, IE browser also uses UTF-8 encoding to send and receive URLs under default settings, so if the client software cannot be parsed, you can use IE to temporarily use FTP services, of course, IE's FTP file management ability is not too strong, if you use it often, it is recommended to install a client;

Clause. Second, after the configuration in this article, there is no problem with displaying, ** and uploading files named in Chinese. But I found that some files named in Chinese and with very long file names still have errors when uploading (but if they are already on the server, ** is no problem), after checking the server's log, I think this is a problem with serv-u in the processing of file names sent by the client.

If the properties of the network connection show that there are packets sent and received, then the network is normal, and the reason for the inability to open the web page may be:

3) Browser setting problems Common security level settings are too high, abnormal add-ons are running, etc., it is recommended that users restore typical settings and disable problematic add-ins.
