    I studied history in China.

My name is Leo, I'm from Australia, and I've been teaching for two years in Harbin, the capital of China's Heilongjiang Province, which is an interesting city with a wonderful history. Some Europeans live here, and some of Harbin's old buildings are in Russian style.

Since I came to China, I have learned a lot about my family's history. Even though I'm Australian and my family is Jewish, it was very interesting for me to learn a lot about Judaism years ago when I came to Harbin. When I told my parents they were amazed, in fact, the first Jews came to Kaifeng thousands of years ago, and they were all welcomed by the emperor.

When I lived in Australia, I studied history in school, but I always studied Australian and Western history, but when I heard that I was going to work in China, I started studying Chinese history. I've been learning it for more than two years now, and my friends in Australia say Chinese history is hard to understand. But I like it, the more I study Chinese history, the more I enjoy Chinese life.

Although I live far away from Beijing, I will be going there to watch the Olympics in 2008.

    6. p50 unit 6 : i’ve been studying history in china

    I studied history in China.

My name is Leo. I'm from Australia and have been teaching in China for two years. I teach in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang.

It's a fun city with a colorful history. The city has been influenced by some European countries, and some of the ancient buildings in Harbin are still in the Russian style. Since I came to China, I have learned a lot about the history of my family.

Even though I'm Australian, my family is Jewish. So it was very interesting for me to learn about Jews in Harbin. In fact, the first Jews probably came to Kaifeng more than a thousand years ago and were welcomed by the Song dynasty.

When I lived in Australia, I studied history in school, but we generally studied Australian history or Western history. However, when I heard that I was going to work in China, I began to study Chinese history. I've been studying for two years now.

My friends in Australia told me that Chinese history is hard to understand, but I disagree. I think if you work hard, you will learn any culture. As a foreigner, the more I learn about Chinese history, the more I feel that living in Chinese history is a kind of enjoyment.

Even though I live a bit far from Beijing, I will definitely go to the '08 Olympics.

    7. p56 unit 7 3a: i can't stand it!

    I can't stand it.

I don't like to wait in line when the salesperson is picking up a very long **. If that happens, I'll often say, "Would you mind helping me?" I also don't like the salesperson following me around.

And then I would say,"Please don't follow me, okay? If I need you, I'll call you. "Usually, the salesperson will say that they are sorry, but sometimes they will be angry.

If that happens, I'll never visit that store again.

I get annoyed when someone talks to me while I'm reading. This happens to me all the time in the school library. When this happens, I tend to talk to that person out of politeness.

But because I'm polite, people don't know I'm annoyed. So they will do the same thing again. Maybe in the future I should try not to be so polite.
