In 2001, the State Forestry Administration handed over the task of breeding triploid poplar and tetraploid black locust seedlings for the construction of the Three-North Shelterbelt to Yanling County, and all 500,000 seedlings were raised in just over two months.

This year, color-leaved tree species are in demand, and the "Cloning" center has cultivated another 80,000 American red-leaved heather.

Last year, this small county-level "cloning" center undertook a project included in the national "863 Plan" -- the rapid multiplication of Erqiao Robinia pseudoacacia and the rapid multiplication of plum and peony.

Relying on plant "cloning", many rare flowers and trees settled in Yanling, which used to be famous for plum and juniper, has become a "world garden" with 240,000 acres of flower fields, an annual output value of more than 1 billion yuan, and more than 2,400 varieties.
