"The Old Man's Village" is a five-rule poem written by the Tang Dynasty poet Meng Haoran, the whole poem vernacular means: an old friend prepared yellow rice and roast chicken, and invited me to his simple Tian home. The outside of the village is surrounded by greenery, and on the outskirts is a green hill and a flat slope.
Pushing open the window, facing the field, drinking wine and chatting about farming. Wait until the day of the Double Ninth Festival in September, and then invite you to come here to watch the chrysanthemums.
The original text of the poem is as follows:
The old man Gu Ji invited me to Tian's house. The green tree village is close to the edge, and the green mountain Guo is oblique outside.
Open the noodle garden, and talk about the wine. Stay until the Double Ninth Day, and come to chrysanthemums.
Appreciation
This is a pastoral poem, describing the quiet and leisurely life of the farmer, and also about the friendship of old friends. By writing about the scenery of pastoral life, the author writes about the author's yearning for this life. The whole text is very rhyming.
The poem is written from "invite" to "to" to "hope" and then to "about", which is natural and smooth. The language is unpretentious, and the artistic conception is fresh and timeless. The poem depicts the beautiful scenery of the mountain village and the peaceful rural life.
The first and second sentences are written from the invitation, and the "old man" indicates that it is not the first time to be a guest. The third and fourth sentences are famous sentences that describe the scenery of the mountain village, surrounded by green trees, and the green mountains are horizontally oblique, like a light ink painting. Five or six sentences write about the mountain village and the fun of life.
Facing the vegetable garden in the field, the wine is talked about the crops, which is kind and natural, full of life. The last two sentences use the Chung Yeung Festival to get together to write the depth of friendship, and the words are endless and the meaning is endless.
The old man Gu Ji invited me to Tian's house. "The beginning is like a note in a diary. The old man "invited" and the author "to", there is no rendering in the text, straight to the point, beckoning, simple and casual.
This is exactly what is possible between the non-polite and intimate relationships. And the invitation to "chicken millet" not only shows the unique flavor of the Tian family, but also sees the simplicity of hospitality.
The green tree village is close to the edge, and the green mountain Guo is oblique outside. Walking into the village, the author looked forward to such a fresh and pleasant feeling. The two sentences in the last sentence are close to the near world, and the green fingers are surrounded by trees, which seems to be self-contained and has no world; In the next sentence, the green hills outside Guo are accompanied by each other, which makes the village not seem lonely and shows an open vision.
Open the noodle garden, and talk about the wine", which is even more enjoyable. The word "Kaixuan" here also seems to be written into the poem very casually, but the above two sentences are written about the exterior of the village, where the narrator is drinking and talking in the house, and as soon as the Xuan window is opened, the exterior scene is reflected indoors, which gives people a sense of relaxation and happiness.
Stay until the Double Ninth Day, and come to chrysanthemums. Meng Haoran was deeply attracted by the farm life, so when he left, he frankly said to the owner that he would come again to watch chrysanthemums and taste chrysanthemum wine during the Chung Yeung Festival in autumn. The faint two lines of poetry, the enthusiasm of the old people, the pleasure of being a guest, and the cordiality between the host and the guest are all on the paper.

An old friend prepared a sumptuous meal and invited me to his farmhouse. Verdant trees surround the village, and green hills stretch across the outer walls of the village. Opening the window to face the grain field and vegetable garden, we raised our glasses and chatted about the farmer's crops.
On the day of the Double Ninth Festival in early September, I will come to watch the chrysanthemums with you again.
