A new round of Sanxingdui's live broadcast room will be run, and the wonderful and precious cultural relics in the No. 7 pit and No. 8 pit will give fans more unexpected surprises. On the afternoon of June 11, CCTV reported the latest news in the archaeological excavation work of Sanxingdui, through more than a year of excavation, archaeological authoritative experts basically determined: adjacent to the archaeological greenhouse, there is also a total area of more than 80 square meters of architectural remains.
The previously excavated Qingguan Mountain large-scale house building foundation site located in the north of the Sanxingdui site, with a total building area of more than 1,000 square meters, is the largest single building foundation site of the Shang Dynasty found in the Sanxingdui site so far.
The architectural remains found outside the archaeological greenhouse are rectangular in shape, with a total internal structure area of nearly 86 square meters. At this stage, authoritative experts have basically figured out the shape of this building, and it is also considered to be a large and medium-sized building. In particular, similar buildings have been found in the vicinity of it, and it is likely that it constitutes a group of buildings.
Among the remains of a large and medium-sized building, there is a ditch that crosses it. When the archaeological experts cleared this ditch, they successively found stone kneeling figures**, stone tigers, stone cong, jade zhang, and even fragments of gold ornaments and bronzes. Among them, the stone kneeling portrait**, the head shape is divided into bangs, and the ears are thick, which has a very typical Sanxingdui design style.
According to the inference of archaeological staff, it is very likely that there are small and medium-sized sacrificial pits around the remains of this large and medium-sized building. Subsequent excavations quickly confirmed their hypothesis. According to Qiao Gang, a member of the archaeological team in the worship area of the Sanxingdui site, so far, several similar small and medium-sized sacrificial pits have been found around the remains of the building.
Combining a variety of elements, archaeological experts deduce that this should be the member area of the ancient Shu people's worship theme activities.
Ran Honglin, president of the Sanxingdui Institute of Archaeology, said that if this worship area is determined, it will have a particularly critical effect on understanding all the Sanxingdui sites, the ancient Shu capital and the whole process of establishment, as well as the division of various functional divisions in the capital.

The excavation of the human face is a key point that many Sanxingdui culture lovers are most concerned about, and at the same time, the excavation of the human face has also brought a major discovery to our country's cultural relics work, and also proved that the Bashu culture has a physical proof, thus confirming that the traditional Chinese culture has a long history from ancient times to the present, and no matter which region of the culture, it is an integral part of Chinese culture.
The discovery of the bronze sacred tree is of great significance to our country's metal smelting research, which further verifies the historical process of our country's bronze smelting and smelting, and thus confirms that our country has been smelting metals from ancient times to the present, and has a superb skill, which is conducive to increasing our national identity and cultural pride, and is an important item in our history teaching process, and it is also one of the most meaningful cultural relics in the history teaching process.

The Sanxingdui site was the first time to discover related excavations in 1929.
The discovery of the Sanxingdui site began with a pit of jade tools that local farmer Yan Daocheng accidentally found in 1929 while he was in the ditch. In the spring of 1931, when Dong Duyi, a British missionary in Guanghan County, heard the news, he found the local garrison to help publicize the protection and investigation, and handed over the collected jade tools to the West China University Museum run by the Americans for safekeeping.
Sanxingdui ancient manuscript sedan slag site is located in the northwest of Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, on the south bank of the Fangao Yazi River, with a distribution area of 12 square kilometers, and has a history of 5,000 to 3,000 years from the key quietly, which is the largest range, the longest duration, and the most abundant cultural connotation of the ancient city, ancient country and ancient Shu cultural sites found in the southwest region so far.
The best-preserved eastern, western, and southern city walls and the inner city walls of Moon Bay. The Sanxingdui site is known as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of mankind in the 20th century, showing that the Yangtze River Basin, like the Yellow River Basin, belongs to the mother of Chinese civilization and is known as the "source of Yangtze River civilization".
Historical Value:
Because the discovery of the Sanxingdui site is very different from the long-term understanding of Bashu culture in the historical circles, and some places are even completely different. For example, historians have always believed that compared with the Central Plains, the ancient Bashu region was a relatively closed place, and there was no connection or little interaction with the Central Plains civilization.
The Sanxingdui site proves that it should be an important cultural center around the Xia and Shang periods in China, or even earlier, and has a certain connection with the Central Plains culture. The authenticity of the records of the ancient Shu Kingdom in ancient documents is verified.
In the past, historians believed that the birthplace of the Chinese nation was the Yellow River Valley, and then gradually spread to the whole of China. The discovery of Sanxingdui pushed the history of the ancient Shu Kingdom forward to 5,000 years ago, proving that the Yangtze River Basin and the Yellow River Basin are the birthplace of the Chinese nation, and proving that the Yangtze River Basin region has existed no less than the Yellow River Basin region of ancient civilization.
There is a view that Sanxingdui represents the ancient Qiang people, Yi people, and Pu cultures, or is closely related to Luoyue culture.

On September 9, the press conference on the phased results of the archaeological excavation of the Sanxingdui site, a major project of "Archaeological China", was held in the Sanxingdui Museum, and the important archaeological achievements of the sacrificial area of the Sanxingdui site were announced to the public.
This is a major discovery and achievement of archaeological work. The latest results of this major discovery are as follows:
In March this year, Sanxingdui discovered 6 new "sacrificial pits", which are No. 3 pits, No. 4 pits, No. 5 pits, No. 6 pits, No. 7 pits, and No. 8 pits. After more than 5 months, the archaeological excavation of these six "sacrificial pits" has made important progress. Sanxingdui extracted nearly 10,000 pieces of cultural relics.
In Pit No. 4, which has been excavated, Pit No. 3, which has been basically cleaned up, and Pits 7 and No. 8, where buried cultural relics have been exposed, cultural relics such as huge bronze altars, mythical beasts, complete gold masks, jade cong engraved with the pattern of the sacred tree, jade knives shaped like dinner knives, and bronze statues of Ultraman "hitting the face" have been found.
Bronze. According to the current excavations, the 8 pits show significant differences. There are pits with different ages and stratigraphic relationships, for example, there is an obvious breaking relationship between Pit 6 and Pit 7, that is, Pit 6 breaks Pit 7, which indicates that Pit 6 appeared later than Pit 7. There are also pits with different shape characteristics and sizes, such as No. 5 and No. 6 pits are relatively small, no more than 5 square meters, with a depth of about 1 meter, and the remaining 6 pits are more than 8 square meters, with a depth of about 2 meters, and some can even reach 2 meters.
Golden Mask. A total of 729 pieces of various artifact fragments and specimens were unearthed in the No. 3 pit, of which 478 pieces (groups) were relatively complete relics, mainly bronze, jade, ivory, gold, seashells, etc. For example, the bronze dome kneeling statue is composed of the upper part of the bronze statue and the lower part of the statue.
For example, the bronze top altar statue, the sacred tree pattern jade cong and other utensils are all new discoveries that have never been seen before.
A bronze figure excavated from the No. 3 "sacrificial pit".
Bronze mask of pit 3.
A total of 79 complete artifacts were unearthed from the relics of Pit 4, including jade, bronze, ivory, pottery, etc. For example, the three bronze figures with their heads twisted and kneeling are the same in size and shape, as if they belong to the same bronze vessel. The figure is realistic, in a kneeling posture, the body is slightly tilted to the left front, the head is slightly chin and twisted to the right side of the body, the hands are held flat in front of the left side of the body in a semi-fold shape, the knees are close to the ground, the front soles of the feet are on the ground, and the back soles are raised.
These three portraits are all new discoveries of Sanxingdui archaeology in terms of modeling and ornamentation.
Pit 4 turned his head and knelt down to sit on the figure.

Following the discovery of a huge gold mask in Sanxingdui Pit No. 5 in March this year, the gold mask was found again in Pit No. 3 this time.
In Pit 3, the crumpled gold mask was restored after exposing the soil, revealing a gold mask about 40 centimeters wide and 27 centimeters high, which is the largest complete gold mask found in Sanxingdui.

Sanxingdui as the largest civilization site in the southwest of our country has been surprising from the beginning of the discovery, through the Sanxingdui culture we unveiled the veil of the ancient Shu culture that has disappeared in the historical corridor, through this site we found a culture completely different from our traditional Chinese culture, and we have made a qualitative leap in exploring the history of civilization in the Central Plains.
Recently, we have made new progress in Sanxingdui culture, and the latest unearthed cultural relics have a complete gold mask, a sacred tree pattern jade, and a huge bronze altar used to worship more than 500 precious national treasures. One of the most eye-catching is the complete ** mask unearthed in the No. 3 sacrificial pit, but the shape of this mask is completely consistent with the facial features of the Sanxingdui figure statue unearthed in the early stage, but it is slightly larger than the size of the character's face, so it should be attached to the bronze statue unearthed in the early stage. Due to the particularity of the first and the craftsmanship required for the mask, we can't help but admire the advanced technology of the craftsmen in the Sanxingdui cultural period.
There are also two bronze altar offerings, which are shaped like twisted kneeling figures, and some delicate jade knives, which are well-made and emotional. Some ivory that looks like it is still intact was also found, but after a long period of corrosion, the inside of the ivory has been completely hollow, and with the contact between the unearthed artifacts and the air, the surface of the ivory instantly corrodes, changes color, and produces cracks.
With more and more unearthed cultural relics, Sanxingdui culture has brought us more and more surprises, and has constantly refreshed our understanding of the creativity and imagination of the ancients. Not only the sophistication of the cultural relics production technology, but also allows us to see the epitome of Sanxingdui culture through these well-made cultural relics, so that we can understand the ancient Shu culture that is obviously in the Central Plains of China, but is in line with the ancient Egyptian culture, and can also give us a new understanding of the development, integration and continuation of human civilization.
