What kind of soil are there in China, and what kinds of soil are there?

The purple soil of Sichuan, the black soil of the Northeast Plain, the red soil of the Lingnan region, and the loess of the Loess Plateau.

Soil can be divided into three types: sandy soil, clayey soil, and loam.

The properties of the three soils are as follows:

1. Sandy soil: large sand content, rough particles, fast water seepage, poor water retention and good aeration performance.

2. Clayey soil: low sand content, fine particle irritation, slow water seepage, good water retention performance, poor aeration performance.

3. Loam: the sand content is average, the particles are average, the water seepage speed is average, the water retention performance is like a sock, and the ventilation is generally disturbed.

Loess: Unlayered mounds sediment, its particle size is between clay and fine sand, light yellow or yellow-brown, widely distributed in North America, Europe and Asia, now it is generally believed to be mainly deposited by wind, often calcareous and often contains shells, bones and mammalian teeth and calcium carbonate nodules, sometimes also contains iron oxide nodules to form a large amount of water storage of high-quality soil.

2. Laterite: It is formed by weathering of carbonates or other rocks rich in aluminum oxides under hot and humid climate conditions, which is generally brownish-red, and has the characteristics of high moisture content, low density, high strength and low compressibility.

3. Black soil: Black soil is a clay soil with strong expansion, contraction and disturbance characteristics. It is equivalent to the American classification of the class of denatured soil and the United Nations classification of the class of denatured soil.

The native class includes the sand ginger black soil, fluvial soil, lime soil, red soil, paddy soil and other soil types with denatured characteristics in the current classification system in China, because China has not set up an independent unit of modified soil such as Jianjube in the past, and it was only in early 1985 that it was listed as an independent soil class in the Chinese soil system classification.
