To be a "good person" comes at a price!

I have read several Buddhist scriptures and have a slight understanding of Buddhist teachings. Don't think about it, let's come to this question.

Not killing is not a Buddhist rule. The idea of not killing is out of compassion.

Plants are also life, and vegetarianism is also killing! It's just that the plant is ignorant and has no nerves, so it doesn't suffer so much – pain, fear, resentment, etc.

This is the root of the promotion of non-killing.

Therefore, reading books cannot make the mind stiff. If you read a dead book, read a dead book, it is better not to read.

To read books and study the ideas of the sages, we must first enter and then jump out, grasp their essence, and must not rigidly pick out the rules and regulations and make ourselves cocooned. "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms" records that Zhuge Liang does not seek to be proficient in reading, but to "look at the general outline" - just grasp the essence.

Back to this question. On the one hand, there is no need to be too rigid about "not killing", on the other hand, it is necessary to understand a truth: persuading people to do good deeds also has to pay a price - it takes strength to help the old lady cross the road.

Since you have decided to "be a good person", you must be clear in your heart - there is a price to pay for being a good person.

It is impossible that you have done a good deed and not paid any price. To put it deeper, you can't "piggyback" on doing good deeds.

In fact, doing good deeds will reap pride, happiness, or at least psychological comfort. Since there is a gain, there must be a pay. Everyone has a Buddha nature and a desire for goodness.

Why, then, are there so many wicked people? It is because these people are unwilling to pay the price for "being a good person". Some people shouted for Uncle Boyi, the sage who starved to death in Shouyang Mountain, saying that such a good person, why didn't he repay him?

Confucius commented: "If you seek benevolence and get benevolence, why complain? "Yes, you want to be a good person, and God has made you a good person, what do you have to complain about?

If you do good deeds in order to get "good fortune", then you don't want to be a good person. You're just using "doing good" as a means for personal gain. Actually, you're not a good person.

Based on the above, if you can't do good deeds sincerely, I think it's okay.

In today's society, there is no one who does not kill, unless he becomes a monk, takes refuge in my Buddha, abstains from killing, and feeds on vegetarian food. Otherwise, you will only attract ridicule from others, and you will think that you have a mental problem.

Buddha is destined to be a person. Cultivation also advises those who are destined. The Tao is different, and it is not conspiratory. True cultivation lies in the mind, not in the form, and those who eat meat also have a kind heart, and those who eat fast and recite Buddha practice every day are not necessarily good. I hope that the initiates will persuade people to eat vegetarian food and recite the Buddha, and they must find people who are destined for the Buddha.

In recent years, with the improvement of people's living standards, the demand for meat has also increased year by year, and if you don't kill, you won't have meat to eat, so most people don't recognize the concept of not killing.

Personally, I think that although we persuade others not to kill, we are still eating meat ourselves, and this is the same in the eyes of others.

Ideological consciousness is different. Some people don't have a moral requirement, so they don't take the issue of killing seriously, and they laugh at others.

The retribution of killing is to be killed, and sickness is just a retribution, and you may go to hell. Sickness is only a by-product of killing, and the retribution must pay the debt of life. Of course, the mentality of killing is different, and the results are also different, if it is an unintentional killing, it is uncertain, if it is intentional killing, killing joy and no remorse, it is a fixed karma, and it will inevitably be retributed. >>>More
