During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, China's port development has made significant progress, ranking first in the world in terms of scale, effectively playing an important role as the fulcrum of the "Belt and Road" and playing an important role in the smooth dual circulation.
China accounts for seven of the world's top 10 ports.
A few days ago, a large cargo ship loaded with iron ore from Vietnam's CMA CGM Perch sailed into the port of Qinzhou in the Beibu Gulf of Guangxi, and the cargo ship from the port of Haiphong in Vietnam was sailing on a new international route that was being trialed in the port of Beibu Gulf. So far, the total number of container routes in Beibu Gulf Port has reached 52, including 28 foreign trade routes and 19 routes to ASEAN countries, mainly covering major ports in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
Chen Silu, General Manager of Beibu Gulf Port: The "13th Five-Year Plan" period is the fastest five years for the development of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port, with an additional throughput capacity of more than 80 million tons and an average annual growth rate of more than 29% in container throughput.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Transport, during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the scale of China's ports continued to expand, and the number of berths of 10,000 tons and above in coastal ports was 2,530. Among the top 10 ports in the world in terms of cargo throughput and container throughput, China's ports account for 7 seats.
More than 1,500 kilometers of collection and distribution roads will be built. The average annual growth rate of container rail-water combined transport volume is 20%, and all coal collection ports in key areas are transported by rail and waterway.
In the past five years, the port production capacity has been enhanced, and the construction of smart ports has been accelerated. Unmanned container terminals such as Xiamen Yuanhai, Qingdao Qianwan and Jingtang Port have been built successively. In particular, the world's largest single phase of the Shanghai Yangshan Deepwater Port Phase IV unmanned container terminal, which was completed and put into operation at the end of 2017, gave full play to the advantages of automation during the epidemic this year, without the need for drivers, and without personnel contact throughout the whole process, realizing the contrarian increase in operation throughput.
In 2020, it is expected to complete 4.18 million TEUs. It provides a new impetus for Shanghai Port to consolidate its position as the world's No. 1 container cargo throughput in the port and accelerate its ranking among the world's leading shipping centers.
Yang Yanbin, Deputy General Manager of the Production Business Department of SIPG Group: Since 2017, the overall throughput of the group has stepped onto a new level, with an annual throughput of more than 40 million.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, China's ports are expected to complete an investment of 364.4 billion yuan, which has formed a port pattern of "reasonable layout, clear hierarchy and complete functions", and has built five large and relatively concentrated coastal port groups in the Bohai Rim, the Yangtze River Delta, the southeast coast, the Pearl River Delta and the southwest coastal region, forming a comprehensive layout of eight transportation systems such as coal, oil, iron ore, containers, grain, commodity vehicles, land island ro-ro and passenger transportation, providing a strong new momentum for the smooth flow of China's dual circulation.
Chen Ying, Deputy Director of the Port Management Division of the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport: During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, China's high-quality development of ports has made significant progress, and has fully started the journey of building a world-class port focusing on safe, green and smart ports.

The "New Middle East Peace Plan" recently put forward by the United States has been condemned and resisted by all sides, especially the Palestinian state. Therefore, there is no premise for the implementation of this plan at all. The reason why the plan has met with serious resistance is that it not only fails to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but also ignores the sovereignty of the Palestinian state and United Nations resolutions, and even adds fuel to the fire of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. >>>More
