Liu Guodong, male, from Xinxiang, Henan, is the elder brother of Liu Guoliang, the head coach of the Chinese table tennis team.

The brothers have been playing since childhood to achieve the goal set by their father Liu Zhansheng to win the World Championship. He successively moved to Henan and Bayi teams. When he felt that he was drifting away from the world champion, his brother, who was two years younger than him, was already in the main squad of the Chinese men's team.

In 94, he chose to serve as a sparring partner for the national women's team, founded the Beijing Guoliang Table Tennis Club, and served as the head coach of the Shaanxi Galaxy Guoliang Club and the Shaanxi Zhishan Dongliang Club (the only professional club in Northwest China that has the qualification for the National Women's Table Tennis A League). Around 2002, when he was a coach at Shaanxi Galaxy Club, he brought out two rookies, Hao Shuai and Ma Long. From 2006 to 2009, he was the head coach of the Singapore table tennis team.

There is also a person named Liu Guozheng in the national team, although the name is very similar, but he has no blood relationship with Liu Guoliang, and the two are just teammates.

Liu Guozheng, born on March 7, 1980, is a native of Wuhan, Hubei, and a male Chinese table tennis player.

1999 ITTF Tour Finals Men's Singles Champion, 2002 Asian Games Men's Team Champion, on April 4, 2010, Liu Guozheng married Zhang Yining's teammate Lu Lu. On January 3, 2012, Liu Guozheng officially became the head coach of the national table tennis men's second team.
