Professor Chen Zhi's students have won awards in major international guitar competitions: including Wang Yameng (Tokyo, Japan, 1993; Alexandria, Italy, 1995; Madrid, Spain, 1996), Yang Xuefei (Darwin, Australia, 1997), Su Meng (Vienna, Austria, 2002; London, UK, 2004; Tokyo, Japan, 2005; 2006 Parken, USA; 2006 Iselon, Germany), Chen Chuan (2002 in Hong Kong). Their performances at ** conferences around the world have been highly acclaimed.

Professor Chen Zhi has been invited to visit and give lectures in France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, the United States, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries and regions, and often serves as a judge for international guitar competitions.

Japan's "Modern Guitar", "Guitar**", "Harmony", "Mainichi Shimbun"; Newspapers and magazines such as "Classical Guitar" in the UK, "Guitar" in France, and "Guitar and Lute" in Germany, as well as the BBC in the United Kingdom and NBC Television and Radio in the United States, have all featured Professor Chen's artistic activities. In 1995, the long-established and authoritative British magazine "Classical Guitar" recommended Professor Chen Zhi as the annual world guitar figure. In addition, he is the editor-in-chief of Guitar Art magazine.

In 2001, he presided over the recording of two teaching VCDs, "Classical Guitar World Famous Music Guide" and "Classical Guitar Basic Course", which sold well all over the country.

In 1982, he founded the first classical guitar school in China, Beijing Chen Zhi Chengzhi Classical Guitar School. Since 1984, he has hosted a weekly classical guitar lecture program on ** People's Radio, which has been rebroadcast for 10 consecutive years. In 1986, he served as the chairman of the Beijing Guitar Society.

In May 1987, as the initiator and artistic director, he organized the first China International Guitar Art Festival. In August 1987, he visited and lectured in the United States. In 1989, he served as the head of the China Radio Guitar Orchestra.

From September to December 1991, Professor Chen Zhi was invited by Spain to visit Spain for a period of three months. In 1992, he led his students to Spain and Portugal for a month-long performance. The 90-year-old Mr. Hoaquim Rodrigo, the author of the world-famous "Aranjuez" guitar concerto and the Spanish composer, attended the ** meeting of Professor Chen Zhi's students in Madrid and presented all his works to Professor Chen Zhi with autographs.
