There are two reasons for this result, one is that the instrument has previously measured a high concentration of formaldehyde, and the sensor is contaminated and has not recovered. The other is a calibration error that needs to be recalibrated.
The first problem is easy to solve, as it only takes one cleaning procedure and the instrument is placed in clean air for 2-3 days to recover automatically.
To determine whether the instrument is restored or not, you can perform the following operations:
l Press the " " and "on" buttons at the same time, the instrument will power on and display the "gain" gain setting.
l There will be 2 values scrolling on the screen, e.g. 1632, e016.
l If the first value is between 3300-6200 and the second value is between E016-E018, it means that the sensor is normal. Otherwise, another pneumatic path cleaning can be carried out.
The second problem requires recalibration, and the calibration steps are much the same for most instruments:
l Press and hold " " and " " and then press the "on" button to power on the instrument, return the instrument to factory settings and turn it off.
l Press "on" to power on, connect the calibration tube, and press " " and " " " at the same time " " to start calibration of the instrument.
l Check the standard reading on the calibration tube, and adjust the instrument reading to be equal to the standard reading after the measurement.
l Calibration completed.
As mentioned above, the sensor of the formaldehyde meter is very squeamish, and if it is exposed to high concentrations for a long time, it will be contaminated, making the measurement results inaccurate.
