What does Buddhism think about the nature of the world?

At the heart of Buddhism is faith. Although Buddhism is known as the "religion of philosophy", it is a religion after all, and faith is undoubtedly its core content, and the belief that people can become enlightened and become Buddhas constitutes the essential characteristics of Buddhism. However, the important difference between Buddhism and other religions in general is that its liberation is "wisdom liberation," and Buddhism revolves around the fundamental goal of attaining wisdom through the practice of Buddhism.

Buddhism has had a great influence and role in Chinese culture, and has left a splendid Buddhist cultural heritage in Chinese history. The most preserved ancient buildings in our country are the Buddhist temple towers, the existing brick towers of Songyue Temple in Songshan, Henan, the wooden buildings of the Tang Dynasty in Nanchan Temple and Foguang Temple in Wutai Mountain, Shanxi, etc., are all valuable objects for studying the ancient architectural history of our country. Dunhuang, Yungang, Longmen and other grottoes are all great cultural heritage of our country.

The three meanings in the "Diamond Sutra": The Buddha said that the world is neither the world of the cautious oak, so it is called the world.

1. The world we see before our eyes.

2. This is not the real world.

3. That's why it's called the world, which is dependent voidness.

There are three realms in these three meanings, as Zen Master Qingyuan Xingsi said: When you first enter Zen, you see that the mountain is a mountain, and in Zen, you see that the mountain is not a mountain, and after enlightenment, you see that the mountain is still a mountain. Blind filial piety.

Introduction to the Diamond Sutra:

The full name of the Buddhist scriptures is "The Sutra of Being Able to Break the Vajra Prajnaparamita", also known as the "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra", referred to as the "Diamond Sutra". Due to its moderate length, it has been widely disseminated, and each sect of the Three Treatises, Tiantai, Xianshou, and Weima Shuzhi has commentaries, which are especially valued by Zen Buddhism after Huineng.

The main idea: This sutra advocates that everything in the world is empty and unreal, and that "what is real is non-appearance", and believes that we should "live without all appearances", that is, we should not be attached or nostalgic for the real world. Four verses at the end of the volume:

All the ways of doing things, such as dream bubbles, such as dew and electricity, should be viewed as such", which is known as the essence of the One Sutra.

Buddhism explains that "the world is the migration, and the world is the direction", which means that the so-called "world" = the changes of the past, present, and future time, which refers to time; The so-called "boundary" = the range of the ten directions (also called the "ten directions" in Buddhism) refers to space. To be more specific, the Buddha said, "Just like a day and moonlight travels four days under the sky, and the light shines", the so-called world refers to the earth, or a star system.
