Morning Flowers and Sunset is the only collection of reminiscence essays written by Lu Xun (formerly known as "Old Things Revisited"), which has always been highly praised. The author says that these articles are "copied from memory" and "reminiscences". This book is a collection of 10 reminiscence essays written by Lu Xun in 1926.
The first five were written in Beijing and the last five in Xiamen. Initially, with the general title of "Revisiting Old Things", it was successively published in the semi-monthly magazine "Mangyuan". In July 1927, Lu Xun re-edited it in Guangzhou, and added "Small Introduction" and "Postscript", which was renamed "Morning Flowers and Sunset" when it was assembled in September 1928.
It was published in September 1928 by the Beijing Weiming Society and listed as one of the "Weiming New Collections" edited by the author. Reprinted in February 1929. In September 1932, the third edition was rearranged and published by Shanghai Beixin Book Company.
