The National Quality Award includes three categories: Organization Award, Project Award (Outstanding Project Award) and Individual Award (China Outstanding Quality Person). Among them, the organization award has set up four awards: large and medium-sized enterprises, service industry, small enterprises, and special industries. In the future, the awards may be adjusted and increased as needed.

Judging process. Improve the critical performance of the organization and achieve business success; Find the most cost-effective way to get an external evaluation and identify the organization's strengths and opportunities for improvement; Motivate employees and improve morale; Learn from benchmarks and enhance competitiveness; Share the best practices of the winning companies.

Get an evaluation from an external expert. A team of external experts will conduct a rigorous and objective data review for each applicant organization, and conduct an on-site review of some organizations with excellent data review, review the organization's improvement process, and accelerate the results of promoting organizational improvement.

Learn and improve from feedback reports. Each applicant organization receives an evaluation report on strengths and room for improvement.

Focus on the results. The National Quality Award scoring system has a total of 1,000 points, of which the results account for 400 points. A focus on results will help your organization measure the most important performance indicators to improve performance in key areas such as economic performance, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, and process outcomes (process effectiveness, efficiency, organizational and individual learning, product quality, etc.).

Conduct a self-evaluation. Continuous self-evaluation using the National Quality Award standards is an effective way and the most powerful tool for organizations to continuously surpass themselves and pursue excellent performance.

Since 2001, the National Quality Award has become the most cost-effective way to realize these values. Award applicants believe that the award creation process is one of the best, most effective, and most complete performance evaluation methods that organizations can find. The most important value of this award is the "process of creating the award", not winning the grand prize.

The evaluation standard of the National Quality Award is the basis for the organization to conduct self-evaluation, the evaluation experts to evaluate the application organization, and the feedback report to the applicant.

At the beginning of the launch of the National Quality Award in 2001, the Office of the Working Committee organized a quality expert group to draft the evaluation standards for the National Quality Award. In order to make the evaluation of the National Quality Award in line with international standards, after soliciting opinions from many aspects, the evaluation standards were revised in 2003, basically based on the American Baldolridge National Quality Award - Excellence Performance Model Standards, combined with the actual situation of our country, and made appropriate adjustments.

On September 2, 2004, China's national standard of "Excellence Performance Evaluation Criteria" was officially released, which is "applicable to the evaluation of quality awards and the self-evaluation of enterprises". After the discussion of the National Quality Award Working Committee, the Examination Committee deliberated and decided that since 2005, the National Quality Award evaluation standard adopts the GB T 19580-2004 "Performance Excellence Evaluation Criteria" national standard.

On March 15, 2012, the newly revised national standard of "Performance Excellence Evaluation Criteria" was officially released. Since 2013, the National Quality Award has adopted the GB T 19580-2012 "Excellence Performance Evaluation Criteria" national standard.

Note: If the standard is updated, the new version of the standard will be adopted for the evaluation of the National Quality Award.

The standard evaluation requirements are divided into seven chapters, which read:

    Lead strategic customers and markets.

    Resource process management.

    Measure, Analyze & Improve.

Results of Operations. Chapters 1 to 6 of the standard require organizations to provide key information on how to plan, develop what methods, how to implement, how to measure and improve the requirements of the standard.

Chapter 7 requires a description of the organization's key performance and how it compares to competitors and benchmarks.

The Performance Excellence Criteria provide a basis for organizational improvement and encourage organizations to implement innovative and flexible approaches that are aligned with the overall business needs of the organization.

Standards focus on general requirements rather than specific procedures, management tools and techniques. Other improvement methods (e.g. ISO quality management system, Six Sigma or Conformity) can be integrated into an organization's performance management system as part of meeting the requirements of the standard.

The standard has applicability. It can be used for large enterprises, small businesses, service industries, as well as ** and non-profit organizations, etc.
