Traditional Chinese culture - the four treasures of the study.
Since ancient times, Chinese calligraphers and painters have written poems and paintings inseparable from paper, ink, pen and inkstone, and people have called these four kinds of stationery "the four treasures of the study".
In Chinese history, there are many famous masters who made the four treasures of the study, and they made a wide variety of pens, ink, paper, and inkstones. The most famous of these are Xuan paper, Hui ink, lake pen and duanyan.
Xuan paper is a kind of precious paper that is famous at home and abroad. Because the origin of this paper is near Xuancheng in Anhui Province, it is called "Xuan paper". The production of rice paper has a history of more than 1,500 years.
This kind of paper is white, fine, uniform and soft, and best expresses the characteristics of Chinese calligraphy and painting. Because rice paper is not easy to break and change color, many ancient Chinese calligraphy and paintings are still intact after hundreds or thousands of years.
Chinese calligraphers and painters of all dynasties were very particular about the use of ink. The Hui ink produced in Huizhou, Anhui Province is the best ink in China. Hui ink has a history of more than 1,000 years since the Tang Dynasty began to be produced.
Because the raw materials for making Hui ink are added to the precious spices and traditional Chinese medicine, and some also add **, therefore, this ink is not only black in color, but also rich in aroma, and can still be used for decades.
The pen in the Four Treasures of the Study is a brush. The production and use of brushes can be traced back to five or six thousand years ago. In China, the most famous brush is the lake pen produced in Huzhou, Zhejiang.
The lake pen is divided into sheep's hair, wolf's hair, and purple hair, which are made of the best goat hair (sheep's hair), weasel hair (wolf's hair) and hare's hair (purple hair). It takes more than 70 processes to make the lake pen, which is a very meticulous work. The head of the lake pen is sharp and round, the length of the pen hair is the same, strong and powerful, it is a treasure in the study.
The inkstone is a tool for grinding ink. Since the Tang and Song dynasties, Duanxian, Sheyan, Chengni and Tao have been known as the four famous inkstones. Among them, the famous Duan inkstone is produced in Duanzhou, Guangdong.
The end stone produced in Duanzhou is the best material for making the end inkstone, the inkstone made of this stone is fast, does not damage the brush, and the ink in the inkstone is not easy to dry and freeze, so the end inkstone has become a treasure in the inkstone.
Paper, ink, pen and inkstone have played a very important role in the development of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy, and until today, people call them the "Four Treasures of Study".

Buddhism has not weakened Chinese culture, on the contrary, the integration of Buddhism is that the Chinese civilization has become more brilliant and dazzling, there is no civilization in the world can be as inclusive as the Chinese civilization, as long as there is goodwill, all welcome to contain, Confucius said: There are friends from afar, it is very happy. It is precisely in this way that Buddhism does not reject other religions, and it itself is also secretly in harmony with certain aspects of Chinese civilization, so that it can seek common ground while reserving differences. >>>More
Among the four major ancient writing systems in the world, only the ancient Chinese character system represented by the Yinxu oracle bone inscription has been inherited after thousands of years of evolution, and China has become the only inheritor of the extension of this representative civilization, writing a broad and profound history of Chinese civilization. From this, it can be imagined why China is the only civilization in the world that has not broken the dynasty. The core reason for this is the Chinese language!
