This major is a distinctive major set up to adapt to the national strategy of international promotion of Chinese language and the increasingly frequent international exchanges, aiming to cultivate teachers who can teach Chinese as a second language at home and abroad, as well as professionals engaged in cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, after nearly 30 years of construction, it has become an advantageous major with great influence at home and abroad. This major is the first major approved by the Ministry of Education of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and it is an undergraduate specialty determined by the Ministry of Education. With its international professional orientation, advanced training mode and virtuous cycle of excellent students, the college has cultivated professionals in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages with a good reputation among domestic and foreign employers.
Based on the principle of education and teaching that attaches equal importance to knowledge, ability and quality, and in accordance with the training goal of "bilingual, bicultural and dual ability", the students should have a solid foundation in Chinese and English bilingualism and a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese and foreign cultures, and have the ability to teach Chinese as a second language and spread Chinese culture internationally. Broad international vision and cross-cultural communication skills; Have the ability to synthesize and express new issues, and the ability to understand and judge foreign cultures and the changing world in a complex information environment; Have the potential to further their studies as high-level talents in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages; Become professionals who can be engaged in international Chinese language education, English-Chinese education, English-Chinese translation, international cultural exchanges and other related work in schools, institutions, enterprises and institutions at home and abroad.
After graduation, about 30% of the graduates go abroad to study for a master's degree in a famous foreign university, and most of them are engaged in international Chinese language education and related work abroad after graduation. Employment units such as Shanghai TV, Citibank, Ernst & Young Corporate Consulting, Dahua Certified Public Accountants, Bank of China, etc., and study abroad universities such as Harvard University, Columbia University, New York University, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Hong Kong, University of Queensland, etc.
