2. Shandong ship. The Shandong Ship of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy is China's first domestically built aircraft carrier, based on the research of the Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier of the former Soviet Union and the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning, and is China's first domestically produced aircraft carrier in the true sense.

Aircraft carrier specifications: China's Liaoning and Shandong aircraft carriers are both conventionally powered aircraft carriers, with a full load displacement of about 60,000 tons. Although the "Shandong" aircraft carrier is China's first aircraft carrier designed and built completely independently, the entire construction cycle took about six years from the official start of construction in 2013, which is about the same as the construction cycle of aircraft carriers of the US Navy.

The number of aircraft carried by the "Shandong" has made great progress compared with the "Liaoning" previously equipped by the Chinese Navy, and it can carry up to 36 J-15 carrier-based aircraft, which is 12 more than the "Liaoning" aircraft carrier, which has a maximum number of 24 aircraft, that is, 50% of the aircraft.

Shandong ship. 1. The Liaoning ship, China's first aircraft carrier platform, was rebuilt from the Varyag purchased from Ukraine. In June 2011, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) confirmed for the first time that China's first aircraft carrier was under construction, but not yet completed.

On August 10 of the same year, the Varyag underwent its first nautical trials, and in the following year, several sea trials were carried out. In September, the aircraft carrier was photographed painted with the word 16 on the board, after which it was officially delivered to the Navy. In September 2012, China** announced that the revamped aircraft carrier was named "Liaoning".

2. On December 17, 2019, the Shandong ship was approved by the ** Military Commission.
