What is the ISOOSI and IEEE802 standards.

Founded in 1947, the International Standards Organization is the world's largest international standardization organization. On October 15, 1984, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the "Open Systems Interconnection" (OSI) as an international standard to guide the interconnection, interoperability and collaboration of information processing systems and travel to Laos.

The protocol logically divides the functions of the network into seven layers, which are from low to high:

Physical layer: Located at the lowest level, it is the physical entity that transmits signals. Its function is to connect the stations mechanically and electrically to form a physical path through which the data can flow.

    2. Data link layer: The data link layer provides an error-free data link on the basis of the data transmission circuit provided by the physical layer. Its function is to transmit binary data streams, and to carry out error detection and flow control.

    3. Network layer: process packet packets, complete multiplexing and packet switching of packets, and transmit data between communication subnetworks.

Transport Layer 4: Enables reliable end-to-end data transfer.

5 Session Layer: It is used to establish, control and terminate the logical channel connection between the utility processes of the end user, and provides the dialogue service that supports the synchronization and management of application processes, verifies the identities of both parties to the session, and recovers the errors of the lower layer without being recovered.

    6. Presentation layer: Bumu provides a series of unified data representation services for user application processes, and solves the differences in information and control characters used by different terminals in different systems.

7 Application Layer: Serve endpoint users directly.

The seven-layer model has two outstanding features:

    l Clarity.

Because the functional boundaries of each layer are clear, complex network designs can be simplified and clear.

    2 Flexibility.

Each layer in the network is relatively independent, and modifying the protocol of one layer will not affect the rest of the system. Different levels complete different functions, each layer only completes a limited number of functions, the upper layer requests the services of the lower layer, and the lower layer implements the intent of the upper layer.

In view of its own characteristics, the standardization of LAN was formulated by the 802 Committee organized by the International Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), and some standard documents were published successively to form the 802 series.

In the 802 series, the most used at present is and. The former is called an Ethernet network, and the latter is called a Token Ring network.
