Tang Guoan was a famous journalist, diplomat and educator in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, and the first president of Tsinghua University.
He devoted his life to the cause of education in the United States, and worked hard to realize the "college dream" and "dream of a strong country". When he was in charge of the Tourism Affairs Office, he selected a large number of outstanding students to study in the United States. This group of students lived up to the high expectations of the motherland, studied diligently abroad, and returned to China to serve when they were successful in their studies, becoming the pillars of society.
According to reports, Tang Guoan Memorial School and Tang Guoan Memorial Hall are built within the scope of the original planned Jishan Primary School in the north of Jishan Village, with a project land area of 22,222 square meters and a design construction area of 15,270 square meters. The green isolation belt on the west side of the campus will be reserved as a supporting green land for the "Tsinghua Alumni Forest". The total investment of the project is 6364380000 yuan, which is jointly planned and designed by Zhuhai Architectural Design Institute and Tsinghua University.
The entire campus is divided into two functional areas: the school and the memorial hall. The school is designed according to the standard of 24 full-time classes.
In the Tang Guoan Memorial Hall area, it includes the reconstructed Tang Guoan Former Residence, Tang Guoan Memorial Hall and Cultural Corridor. The total construction period of the project is about 10 months, and the enrollment of new students will be ensured in September 2010. Satisfied.
