The 13 years from 1929, when The Noise and the Tumult were published, to 1942, when Go, Moses, were the heyday of Faulkner's literary creation. "The Noise and the Tumult" has similarities with "Sartoris", both of which reflect the decline of the Southern family. However, "Noise and Tumult" has moved away from the traditional realist approach, and traces the negative effects of the slavery plantation system through the inner conflicts of the characters and the contradictions between people.
As I Lay Dying, Faulkner's masterpiece, depicts the life of the peasant woman Eddie Bendlen within 10 days of her death. "August Light" is about a lonely person who cannot find his place in society, is dominated by unreasonable social laws, is manipulated by fate, and finally dies tragically. Absalom, Absalom!
The rise and fall of the owner of the manor, Thomas Sedepan, is shown through the narration of several people. The work is one of Faulkner's most epic creations. It is full of ups and downs, sounds, and tragic agitation, and you can see the influence of ancient Greek and Shakespearean tragedies.
Go, Moses is a series of 7 works. The main character, Isaac McCaslin, is the last descendant of a family of manor owners. On the one hand, there are the two branches of the patriarch of the McCaslin family, Carrotsus (whites, including the descendants of daughters; and the descendants of mulattoes).
On the other hand, there are several stories about hunting. The longest of these, "The Bear," is particularly remarkable, and is the most beautiful work in the history of American literature about hunting and the Great Forest, full of mythology and symbolism.
