Analysis: A brief description of the working mode of the hard disk.
The motherboard now supports three hard drive modes: Normal, LBA, and Large modes.
Normal mode is the earliest IDE way to call rock socks. In this mode, when accessing the hard disk, the BIOS and IDE controllers do not do any good conversion of the parameters. The maximum number of cylinders supported in this mode is 1024, the maximum number of heads is 16, the maximum number of sectors is 63, and the number of bytes per sector is 512.
Therefore, the maximum capacity of the supported hard disk is 512 63 16 1024 = 528MB. In this mode, even though the actual physical capacity of the hard drive is larger, the accessible hard drive space can only be 528MB.
LBA (Logical Block Addressing) The hard disk space managed by this mode breaks through the bottleneck of 528kb and can be reached. In LBA mode, the parameters such as cylindrical surface, head, and sector are not the physical parameters of the actual hard disk.
When accessing a hard disk, the IDE controller converts the logical address determined by parameters such as cylinders, heads, and sectors into the physical address of the actual hard disk. In LBA mode, the maximum number of heads that can be set is 255, and the rest of the parameters are the same as in normal mode. From this, it can be calculated that the accessible hard disk capacity is:
Large hard disk mode. This mode can be used when the cylinder of the hard disk exceeds 1024 and is not supported by the LBA. The large mode takes the method of dividing the number of cylinders by 2 and multiplying the number of heads by 2, resulting in a total capacity of the same.
For example, in normal mode, the number of cylinders is 1220 and the number of heads is 16, and in large mode, the number of cylinders is 610 and the number of heads is 32. In this way, in the DOS opinion, the number of cylinders is less than 1024, and it will work normally. At present, basically only the LBA is of practical significance.

Hard disks are generally divided into IDE compatibility mode, SATA mode, in addition to RAID mode, which is the disk column group mode, compatible with SATA.
-
There are generally three hard disk modes in the BIOS settings:
1. IDE mode. This is the mode of parallel port hard disk, which has been completely eliminated. However, if you install XP, because XP does not have its own SATA driver, you will not be able to find the hard disk, you can set it to IDE mode, install the driver after installing the system, and then change it back to SATA mode.
2. SATA mode. This is the mainstream mode, in the BIOS, it used to be called SATA mode, and now it is called AHCI mode, which means the same. With SATA hard drives, they all need to be turned on. With an SSD, it must be turned on.
3. RAID mode. This is only used when making disk arrays.

Now install the hard disk,Basically, it's automatically found in the BIOS,And its normal、Lab and large meanings have long been ignored,There are even fewer people who can know,So qurro is here to give you a brief introduction to the meaning of these three。
Normal mode is the earliest IDE method. Access the BIOS and IDE controllers in this way without any conversion of parameters. The maximum number of cylinders supported by this mode is 1024, the maximum number of heads is 16, the maximum sector is 63, and the number of bytes per sector is 512.
Therefore, the maximum capacity of the hard disk supported by this mode is 528MB (1024*16*63*512), even if the actual physical space of the hard disk is larger than this, but the accessible space is only 528MB.
LBA (Logical Addressing Mode), this mode increases the access of the hard disk to the empty space to the point that the parameters such as cylinder, head, and sector set in the LBA mode are not the physical parameters of the actual hard disk, and when accessing the hard disk, the IDE controller converts the logical address of the cylinder, head, and sector of the hard disk into the actual physical address. The difference between the LBA and Normal settings is that the maximum number of heads that can be set is 255 (1024*255*63*512).
Large (large hard disk mold hall), this mode is used when the cylinder of the hard disk exceeds 1024 and is not supported by the LBA. This model divides the number of cylinders by 2 and the number of heads by 2, and its total capacity does not change.
You don't need to change these things to make the system, just serial port and parallel port. Is it a blue screen or a stuck freeze when it doesn't start?

Hard disk mode refers to the master-slave mode, when a computer only has one hard disk, the motherboard will default it to the master mode, but when a computer is mounted with more than two hard disks, the motherboard is connected to the IDE cable head of the main disk by default, and the middle one is the slave disk; If there are two IDE lines, the system cannot separate the master and slave disks and cannot boot the system. Therefore, you need to set the hard disk mode manually. That is, to modify the needle skip connection method on the hard disk, the hard disk connection method of each manufacturer is not the same, fortunately, the labels on the hard disk are printed, refer to the label, and modify the skip needle connection method that is, the wax chain.
In addition, the boot system can only be booted when the hard disk is in primary mode.

If it is the transmission mode of the IDE that is asked, then there are three types: PIO, DMA, and UDMA.
If you ask the IDE to work in hard disk mode, it is divided into three modes: Normal (CHS), LBA, and Large.
7 9 There is a difference between liking and loving 7 9 To like a person does not necessarily mean to love him; But the premise of loving someone is that you must like him. It's easy to turn like into love, but it's hard to say like after you've loved. Because like is forgiving; Love, on the other hand, is selfish. >>>More
The difference between liking and loving is this: When you stand in front of someone you love, your heart beats faster, when you look at someone you love, you get shy, but when you stand in front of someone you like, you only feel happy, but when you look at someone you like, you just smile. When you talk to someone you love, you find it hard to talk about it, when you cry with someone you love, you cry with her, but when you talk to someone you like, you can talk freely, but when you cry with someone you like, you comfort her. >>>More

From a botanical point of view, "Rosa chinensis" is an erect shrub with barky thorns, smooth leaves, flowering in all seasons, and more flower colors; "Rose" (rosa rugosa) is also an erect shrub, but its branches are prickly and bristle, and its leaves are wrinkled, and it blooms in the spring and its flowers are mostly purple-red and white. Therefore, it is obviously wrong to equate "moon flowers" with "roses". >>>More
