The Japan Arithmetic Olympiad began in 1992 by Mr. Heiyu Mitsunaka, a winner of the Fields Medal and the International Order of Culture, chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Mathematical Sciences, and an internationally renowned mathematician. In the hearts of the Japanese people, he is equivalent to Mr. Hua Luogeng of our country.
The Japan Arithmetic Olympiad has been successfully held for 15 consecutive sessions (Japan has participated in all 15 sessions). Its purpose is to provide a platform for young people who love mathematics to give full play to their talents and wisdom, to cherish and cultivate their innate thinking and creativity, and to stimulate and guide their interest and enthusiasm in learning mathematics. Therefore, the topic is novel, interesting and close to life, and is well received by teenagers, teachers and mathematics enthusiasts from all over the world.
The awards of the Japan Arithmetic Olympiad are individual gold, silver and bronze medals. Although there are few opportunities to win awards, since we participated, our players have won them, which is very proud. Because of the different syllabuses, the learning content and learning pace are also different, and it is not easy to get good grades.
In 2007, at the invitation of the Japanese side, led by Professor Xiong Bin, the leader of the 46th IMO Chinese national team, he organized a delegation to Japan to participate in the competition for the first time in East China, and achieved good results.
