Recovering accidentally deleted data in SQL Server is not a difficult task, and it is sufficient to recover from the transaction log. However, there are two prerequisites for this restoration:

1.At least one full backup of the database before it was accidentally deleted.

2.The recovery mode of the database is "full".

For these two prerequisites, there are three scenarios:

Circumstance. 1. If these two prerequisites are present, it can be recovered in just three steps through SQL statements (refer to the article) without the help of third-party tools.

a) Back up the transaction log of the current database: backup log [database name] to disk= n'The name of the backup file' with norecovery

b) Restore a full backup before it was accidentally deleted: restore database [database name] from disk = n'Back up the file name completely' with norecovery, replace

c) Restore the database to the point in time before it was accidentally deleted: restore log [database] from disk = n'The name of the log backup file in the first step' with stopat = n'The point in time before the accidental deletion' , recovery

I'm now facing the second situation, which requires finding a third-party tool.

The first thing I was looking for was Log Explorer for SQL Server, which does not support SQL Server 2008.

Later, I found SQL Log Rescue, which also does not support SQL Server 2008.

The next thing I found was SysTools SQL Recovery, which supports SQL Server 2008, but you need to buy it, and the demo version does not have a data recovery function.

Finally found on Recovery for SQL Server, although it is also commercial software, you need to buy, but the demo version can recover data, as long as the database file does not exceed 24GB. Fortunately, my friend's database file is not large, and I used it to complete the recovery of accidentally deleted data.

Recovery Steps:

1. Run EasyRecovery.

2. Select "DeletedRecovery".

3. Select the drive where the database file is located, and enter *. in "file filter".mdf|*.ldf, select Next.

4. In the left window, the deleted database files will be listed, select the database files you want to recover, and select "Next".

5. In "Recover to Local Drive", select the path where the recovered files are stored, and select "Next" to select a different path from the original database files.

6. After the file is recovered, copy the recovered file to the original database file location, and restore the recovered file to SQL Server by attaching the database in Enterprise Manager.

Note: If all the storage areas of the deleted database file have been written, it cannot be recovered, so the shorter the time interval between deletion and recovery, the better.

The deletion of data by the database is a tricky problem, and the deletion of data first involves three levels:

Data deletion does not need to be too panicked, and the following methods can help you retrieve data.
