MSCONFIG. Trouble master take a look

Under Windows XP, after running "MSCconfig", the system prompts that the file cannot be found. However, the file is clearly present in the system partition and can be opened by double-clicking.

This is because it exists in the %systemroot% pchealth helpctr binaries directory and not.

systemroot% or %systemroot% system32

It is not possible to omit its path and run it directly to open with the file name. The reason why we are usually able to run msconfig directly to open the program is because it is in the registry.

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\app paths

There are related paths under the key, which play a guiding function. If there is no relevant path or the path is wrong, it will not be possible to open the file name directly. Workaround: Run "regedit" and find it.

In the window on the right, right-click on the blank space, select New, and change its name to "Item". Then check", and then in the right window, double-click the string value [Default], and change the value to "C: Windows PCHain Helpctr Binaries changes according to the partition where the system is located".

After the modification, we can directly run msconfig to open the program as before.

It may be that the msconfig file is disabled.

Here's how to set msconfig:

1.Click "Start" - "Run" (or Win+R) and enter msconfig.

2.Click "General" - select "Selective Startup", uncheck "Process File", "Process File", "Load Startup Item";

3.Then click on "Services" and tick "Hide All Mircosoft Services".

4.Click "Start", select "Disable All", check ctfmon, and finally click "Apply" - "Close" or "OK".

5.When prompted to restart your computer, tap "Restart".

You don't need to set it, why are you doing it, the default is the best, and the most commonly used is to set the startup item through msconfig.

Start - Run - msconfig - Start - Except for the anti-virus and firewall and font (ctfmon) are unchecked.

It's a very simple, convenient and fast way to do it
