Admitted teachers will be sent to teach Chinese in grades 9 to 12 (high school to 8 (junior high school) or kindergarten to 5 (elementary) in urban, suburban and rural areas. The duration of volunteer service is one year, and the service period can be appropriately extended if retained by the U.S. side and agreed by the original unit. During the service period, the applicant teacher's dispatching unit shall retain the domestic public position for him, and the length of service shall be counted consecutively.

Chinese Language Teaching Volunteers are organized by the Office of the National Leading Group for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Hanban) to other countries (including Japan, Thailand, India and other Asian countries, as well as the United States, the United Kingdom and other European and American countries) and volunteer to be assigned Chinese teachers who are willing to obey the deployment. According to the regulations, the applicant is an in-service teacher of primary school, middle school, tertiary college and legally registered private school, and has more than 3 years of full-time teaching experience; Putonghua proficiency in Level 2A or above; Strong oral and written English skills, able to live and work in an English-speaking environment.
