Pablo Neruda (1904-1973), born Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basso Alto, is a famous contemporary Chilean poet. Born in the city of Parral. As a teenager, he loved to write poetry, and at the age of 16 he entered the Chilean Institute of Education in Santiago to learn French.
