Distinguish. "Architectural Model" is aimed at the architectural profession.
"Structural Template" is for structural professions.
1. The types of families loaded by default are different. For example, there may be doors, windows, and furniture in the building model, but there are no structural models, and the structural columns, structural frames, structural foundations, structural steel bars, etc. in the structural model do not.
2. The settings of the view are different. For example, the location of the architectural template view cut might be at the location of the window sill, and the structural template might be at the location of the beam plate.
3. The setting of the system and the drawing, etc.

Uninvited, I looked at the statements of other buildings, and it happened that I was studying Revit2017 recently, and I met this question with a little answer, and I didn't dare to say that it must be right, and the younger generation talked about a little shallow ......
My understanding is that the main difference between architectural and structural models is that the families that come with the system will be different in different templates.
For example, if you open the building template, you may have a more complete range of general civil engineering families such as walls, parking lots, doors and windows, etc.; In the structural sample, there will be more complete structural families such as caps, beams, columns, and roofs. To put it simply, the default family of different templates is different, and the other differences are not much different from each other. However, there are many families that need to be imported from the outside or created by themselves when modeling, so it is not enough to rely on the family that comes with it.
However, I personally feel that there is not much difference, as shown above.
Construct the family type.
The following are the structure family types.
The type of architectural pattern family.
Compare to find the problem, except for some subtle differences, the initial family is almost the same. As for the mechanical property analysis with the structural sample, such as load-bearing calculation, reinforcement layout, etc., it may still be a bit difficult, and you may have to use other takeoff software, and there are also requirements for the calculation power of the software user to use it. After all, my understanding is that Revit is a very good modeling software, and it is a bit difficult to calculate for the time being.

Architectural model: suitable for architectural design, focusing on the embodiment of the shape of the architectural model, some components are preloaded in advance, including tables and chairs in the house, and outdoor trees and plants.
Structural model: suitable for structural design, on the basis of the building, the content of the reinforcement is added, and the sample [i] plate file is also pre-loaded into the structure of the beam components, column members and other structural components in advance.

The main difference is that the root shed refers to the display of units, linear shapes, and different structures according to the requirements of different architectural professions.
The specific differences are as follows:
A new project based on a template inherits all the families, settings (such as units, fill style, line style, line type, line weight, view scale, and so on) and geometry of the template.
A boilerplate is a systematic document, and most of its content is accumulated over time during the design process.
The Revit family library is simply a database that classifies a large number of Revit families according to their characteristics, various parameters and other attributes, and allocates the archive chain.
With the development and deepening of the project, enterprises or organizations in related industries will also accumulate their own unique set of family database data.
In the future modeling process, you can directly call your own family library data and make appropriate modifications according to the actual design needs, which can reduce unnecessary operations and improve work efficiency.
The Revit family library can be understood as an intangible intellectual productivity. Slinging.
The quality of the family library reflects the core competitiveness of enterprises or organizations in related industries.

In Revit, construction, structural, and architectural templates are predefined templates for quickly creating building models. The main difference between them is in their default settings and features.
1.Construction Template:
Definition: A construction template is a template in Revit for the initial setup and predefined functionality used to create a building structure model.
Functionality: Construction templates typically contain a set of default settings that are appropriate for building structure design, such as component family libraries, project parameters, view templates, dimension styles, and so on. It provides some commonly used structural width planning tools and settings to help users quickly start building structural models.
2.Structural Template:
Definition: A structural template is a template in Revit that is used to create the initial setup and predefined functionality of a building structural model.
Function: The structure template contains a set of default settings and tools for structural design. It typically includes a library of structural member families, structural analysis tools, structural annotations, and detailing.
The purpose of the Structural Template is to provide structural engineers with some commonly used structural design and analysis tools to speed up the process of model creation and analysis.
3.Architectural Template:
Definition: An architectural template is a template in Revit that is used to create the initial setup and predefined functionality of an architectural model.
Features: Building templates typically contain a set of default settings and tools that are appropriate for building design, such as building component family libraries, dimension styles, view templates, wall types, floor settings, and so on. It provides some commonly used architectural design tools and settings to help users quickly start creating and designing architectural models.
Summary: Construction Templates, Structural Templates, and Building Templates are predefined templates for quickly creating building models in Revit. The structural model is mainly used for the creation and analysis of the structural model, and the architectural model is mainly used for the creation and design of the architectural model.
They provide some default settings and features to help users quickly get started with model creation and design work.

1. The types of families loaded by default are different.
For example, the doors, windows, furniture, etc. in our building template are not in the structural template, or there is only one of the most typical ones in the structural template, so if you want to create doors and windows in the structural template, you have to manually load the family of the door and window (of course, the family you create yourself must be manually loaded no matter which template you are in).
In the same way, there are preset structural columns, structural frames, structural foundations, etc., which are not available in the architectural template (or there is a typical one), and if you use the architectural template to create the components of the structural template, you also have to manually load the corresponding families.
Let's look at the comparison of the two pictures below to understand it very well.
2. The settings of the view are different.
As we all know, a floor plan is cut by a horizontal section, and then the upper part is removed, leaving the lower part of the orthographic view. The position of the view section of the building model is generally higher than the position of the window sill, so that the indoor facilities can basically be seen, so the view section position of our structural model may be at the beam plate, so that the redundant content of the architectural profession will not be displayed.
3. The settings of the system drawing are different.
According to the drawing class, we also know that the difference between architectural drawings and structural drawings is still very large, so the drawing settings of architectural templates and structural models are also different. The building model is generally a building construction drawing, and the structural model should be used together with some other load calculation software (such as PKPM) to produce the structural construction drawing.
When to use architectural templates and when to use structural templates?
If it is a large-scale project or a high-rise project, the BIM chief engineer will generally model the building and structure separately, and then combine and collaborate. If it is a small project, there are fewer families that need to be loaded in the structural part, so you can use the architectural template to build it, and the structural part can be loaded manually.
-
The predetermined things are not the same, which kind of professional is convenient to draw, if you want to completely change the building into a structural model.
For example, the simplest thing is that there is a family of structures inside, and the structure is also displayed. Buildings require you to load the structure families you want.
Anyway, you can use whatever template you draw.
-
The difference is that the preset loads different types of families.
For example, there may be doors, windows, and furniture in the building model, but there are no structural models, and the structural model is suspicious of the structural columns, structural frames, structural foundations, structural reinforcements, etc., while the building model does not.
Generally, Revit defaults to the "Structural Template", which includes the general project settings, while the "Architectural Model" is for the architectural major, the "Structural Sample" is for the structural major, and the "Mechanical Model" is for the water, heating, and electrical electromechanical majors.

The dark column, the main reinforcement, the stirrups, the longitudinal distribution ribs and the horizontal distribution ribs of the shear wall are tied outside; Beam, upper longitudinal reinforcement, lower longitudinal reinforcement, stirrups, double-layer two-way orthogonal arrangement of plate reinforcement). <

How to use Revit templates:
1. Create a new project template.
Figure 1-1 creates a project template.
Then load the families that need to be used in the project.
Figure 1-2: Select the required family to load it.
According to the relevant drawing standards, modify the line shape, line weight, color, etc. in the view template. After the template is made, save it as a template file.
Figure 1-3: Save the template file.
2. Load the project template.
When we have an existing template, we need to load it on the start page of Revit for later use. Start with the File option in the top left corner of the stand-alone file on Revit's start page.
Figure 1-4: Open the File menu.
On the options page, click on the file location and click on the green plus sign to open the file directory.
1-5 Add a project template in the file.
After the addition is completed, you can modify the position of the commonly used templates, and remove the template files that are not commonly used or not used on the start page.
Figure 1-6 Perform operations such as resetting or deleting the template file.
Once you've finished adding the template file, you can quickly open the project template on the start page.
