The main plot of Durotan, how Durotan died

The story of Durotan will continue through the formation of the entire tribe and the fall of the orcs, it is a story of struggle and faith, and Durotan, as the leader of the Frostwolf Clan, remains calm as all the orcs step by step towards the trap set by Gul'dan. Determined to reveal the truth of Gul'dan's plot to his old friend, Durotan and his wife Drakar met with Orgrim Doom on the way back, only to be plotted by Gul'dan's Assassins on the way back. Durotan and Draka both died, leaving young Thrall to be picked up by Blackmore, who happened to be there.

During the assault on Stormwind Fortress, Gul'dan planned to exile the Frostwolf Clan to a remote land. Durotan and his people made it to the Alterac Mountains on the continent of Lordaeron. Only the clan leader, Orgrim, an old friend of Durotan, was aware of the potential depravity within the tribe and was willing to listen to his advice.

However, on their way back from the penal colony, the Durotan family was ambushed. The Durotans were killed by Gul'dan's killers. Only one of his young sons "survived" - abandoned by the killer in the icy snowy mountains.

When the Frostwolf Clan learns of the death of their leader, the old shaman of the Chain, Drektar, succeeds him as the leader of the clan. They returned to the Alterac Mountains, determined never to bother with the tribe again.
