Precautions for warming feeding:

a.Temperature. The temperature should be controlled at 28 degrees Celsius. At night, it needs to be lowered a little, 25 degrees Celsius. Mimic the natural environment. Otherwise, when the spring is not warmed, the turtle will not be able to withstand the natural temperature difference.

b.Safe. Heating in winter is the most important thing for feeding safety.

Observe the water level every day, and replenish warm water in time when the water level is close to the warming rod.

It is also important to prevent air leakage from the suction cup at the bottom of the warming rod, which can also cause the heating rod to lift up to expose the water. Solution: Press the warming rod with a stone.

This will effectively prevent this from happening.

c.The area of the turtle tank. The bigger, the better. This reduces the number of water changes. Changing the water in winter is more troublesome.

d.Change the water. Directly for tap water?

No way! The temperature of the water in the turtle tank is 28 degrees, and the temperature of the tap water is only 5 degrees. So what to do?

I do this, first measure the water temperature of the turtle tank by hand, then find a basin to add cold water, then heat the water, and measure the temperature by hand, when it feels about the same, measure it with temperature, up and down no more than 5 degrees Celsius. When changing the water, always remember to disconnect the power to the heating rod. Otherwise, it is dangerous if the heating rod is exposed to the water.

e.Feeding. Feed once every three days. Don't overfeed. Either it is troublesome to clean up the bait. If you don't finish eating, be sure to clean up the bait. If it doesn't affect the water quality, the water will have to be changed.

f.Sunbathe. At any time, sun exposure is a must for turtles to grow.

Turtles in winter also need ultraviolet light. Try to place the turtle tank in a room with the sun, and put a small piece of glass on top of the sunken wood or sun-dried stones, so as to maintain the air temperature of the sunbathing terrace and prevent colds.

Turtles do not hibernate in winter, and the keeper needs to keep the turtle in a special incubator and control the temperature above 15 to prevent the turtle from hibernating. Although turtles do not hibernate, they still need to supplement their nutrients to promote their growth and development. It is also necessary to dry the turtle in the sand, if it is watered regularly every day.

5. Shelter from the wind. The main purpose of sheltering from the wind is to reduce the temperature difference. In winter, when the cold wind blows directly, the temperature in the tortoise's hibernation environment will inevitably be greatly affected, and this temperature difference can easily cause the tortoise to get sick.

6. Disinfection. The main purpose is to prevent the turtle from bringing some harmful bacteria into the hibernation medium, causing the turtle to get sick. In general, 5% povidone-iodine solution is used for disinfection.
