Many students are a little at a loss before studying in Japan, and some students complain that the study abroad procedures are too complicated. In fact, these are all Japanese regulations, and if there are no such regulations, the Japanese study abroad market will be chaotic, and this is also to allow students to study in a good environment. The following teachers of the Japanese Study Abroad Department have compiled some details that need to be paid attention to before going to Japan, which must be complied with and will not be changed for the time being!
1. The purpose of studying in Japan must be clear.
Due to the rapid increase in the number of international students coming to Japan and the complex motivation for going to Japan, the Ministry of Justice will specifically examine whether the international students have a clear purpose for studying. In particular, those who wish to study in Japan after graduating from a school with their final academic qualification in their home country for many years (e.g., more than 5 years) will be subject to strict scrutiny.
2. International students must meet the Japanese language proficiency standards.
In the future, the Japanese language proficiency requirements for students in Japan will be stricter than in the past. For international students who plan to enter a Japanese university directly for undergraduate studies, they are required to have a Japanese language proficiency of at least 2 or higher on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. For those who wish to enter a "special course" (i.e., a preparatory course) or a Japanese language school, they are required to have a level of 4 or higher in the "Japanese Language Proficiency Test". Under these regulations, it is difficult for anyone who does not meet the standard to study in Japan.
3. The proof of payment of study abroad expenses must be detailed.
In order to ensure that students have basic living expenses and tuition fees while studying in Japan, the Japanese side will be more stringent in examining the 'proof of financial payment'. In addition to proof of deposit, the Japan Immigration Bureau also requires a detailed account of deposits and withdrawals, a copy of the corresponding passbook, and proof of income for the past three years.
4. Conduct strict inspections of non-excellent schools in Japan.
There are two types of schools in Japan: "good schools" and "non-good schools", which are called "proper schools" and "non-suitable schools". The Immigration Bureau will conduct stricter scrutiny of student documents submitted by Japanese schools (including Japanese language schools, vocational schools, and universities) that have previously been found to be illegally employed or in violation of Japanese laws. Through the examination, it is confirmed that these schools have implemented an appropriate enrollment and selection system, and whether they have managed their students well, including whether they have a good grasp of the situation of international students engaging in activities other than those permitted under the status of residence previously granted.
5. Japanese schools do not allow international students to break the law. Even if it is a good school, if there is an illegal behavior of individual international students in the school, the Immigration Bureau will strictly review the school and require it to improve its management, and if it is found that the situation has not improved, the authorities will refuse to apply for the "Certificate of Eligibility" submitted by these schools

Relevant degrees recognized by the Ministry of Education in Japan (note that a degree must be obtained) are recognized in Japan, including self-examination, teaching, and post-secondary education. International students are not allowed to take the entrance examination for graduate students in Japan, so they need to apply for graduate school first, and after about half a year of study, they will take the entrance examination for graduate students and enter the graduate school entrance examination.
