Auto shutdown is a very useful feature, but Windows itself doesn't seem to provide this setting directly, so we usually need shutdown software to implement automatic shutdown. So is it possible to make Windows 2000 XP shut down automatically without these extra programs? The answer is yes.
You can do it by calling the file in the Windows XP system directory, and its location is placed in Windows System32. This file is the shutdown program that comes with Windows, but it's hidden, and it's not easy to find.
Here's an example of how to set up a command:
1. If you get off work at 17:00 and you need to shut down your computer at 17:01, you can select "Start Running" and enter "at 17:".
01 shutdown -s", so that at 17:01 the computer will appear "System Shutdown" dialog box, which has a 30-second countdown by default and prompts you to save your work. If you want to shut down in a countdown mode, you can enter "-s -t 3600", here it means it will automatically shut down after 60 minutes, and "3600" means 60 minutes.
If you want Windows 2000 to do the same, you can copy it to the system directory (Figure 1).
2. After setting up the automatic shutdown, if you want to cancel it, you can enter "shutdown -a" in the operation. In addition, if you enter "shutdown -i", you can open the Set Auto Shutdown dialog box and set the auto shutdown. (Figure 2).
3. Each parameter has a specific purpose, and each one will have different effects, such as "-s" means shutting down the local computer, "-a" means canceling the shutdown operation, and more parameters are listed below, which you can use as needed.
f: Forcibly close the application.
m Computer Name: Controls the remote computer.
i: Displays the graphical user interface, but must be the first option for shutdown.
l: Log out of the current user.
r: Shut down and restart.
c "The content of the message": Enter the message content in the shutdown dialog box (no more than 127 characters).

There's definitely nothing wrong with the motherboard, and the culprit is the motherboard's heatsink base! The base of the radiator is too low, or the installation is uneven, the screws are loose, etc., resulting in the heat sink can not be fully in contact with the CPU, so this phenomenon occurs, replacing the fan, cleaning the dust, replacing the silicone grease or even changing the CPU is useless, so after you replace the motherboard, it can work normally. >>>More
