Asian elephants: Number one: India has by far the largest number of Asian elephants, accounting for the world's wild elephants.
Nearly 60% of the total. In India, elephants are mainly found in the south (14,612 individuals) and northeastern (10,139 individuals), central (3,128 individuals) and northwestern (2,085 individuals).
Second: Sri Lanka.
Elephants are the second most abundant in the drylands and are concentrated in the lowlands of the arid zone, with widespread distribution in the northern, southern, eastern, northwestern, north-central and southeastern parts of Sri Lanka. The few remaining Asian elephants are found in the Verdernes Peak Reserve and the Sinharaga Forest Reserve, both of which are located in the humid regions of Sri Lanka. Most worrying is Vietnam's wild elephant population, which is facing a very real threat as their numbers have dropped to probably less than 100 (estimated at 1,500-2,000 in the 80s of the 20th century).
African elephants: First: Botswana.
It is currently the country with the largest number of elephants in the world, and it is estimated that there are more than 10,000 elephants on its territory, accounting for about one-third of the total number of elephants on the continent.
Second: Zimbabwe.
Ranked second, estimated at 10,000 heads.

Asian elephants: The current number is between 10,000 and 30,000, and more than half of them are in India. African elephants:
The wild population is currently around 520,000 (but elephants are still threatened due to frequent poaching and low reproductive rates), with around 40,000 in captivity.

There are two main types of elephants in the world today, namely Asian elephants and African elephants.
Elephant crisis.
The number of illegally hunted elephants in Africa began to rise sharply around 2005, with an average of more than 20,000 African elephants killed annually in the past three years, including more than 10,000 at the hands of poachers in 2011.
More than 20,000 elephants were illegally hunted in 2013, illustrating the tragic situation of the African elephant. Transnational criminal organizations are involved in illegal ivory** in the region. What's even more rampant is that some people will even drive *** to poach elephants.
Tackling poaching.
Poverty, poor regulation and demand from ivory-consuming countries are the main reasons for the high incidence of poaching in Africa. States** must fight vigorously on the frontlines of illegal ivory** such as African elephant habitats, customs, black markets, etc., to reverse poaching. African elephants continue to face a direct threat from poachers.

In 2006, American astronomers discovered the largest and least dense planet discovered by 06. Its diameter is one-third larger than that of Jupiter, the largest in the solar system. It's so dense that some astronomers jokingly call it "like a big, loose cork" that can float on the surface of the water if it's big enough to hold it. >>>More
