In 1938, when Xiamen was occupied by the Japanese, Huang Baoxin was sent by his father to his aunt's house in Hong Kong, where he planned to study and learn to do business. During this period, he returned to his hometown after learning that his former classmates were preparing to concentrate on military training and then go to the countryside to set up a wartime national school.

In 1958, Huang Baoxin established a joint venture with a friend to establish Lianqiao Enterprise Co., Ltd. and started a chemical business in which he specialised. His wife, Wu Liying, who teaches at Pui Kiu Middle School, also quit her job to join the company and start a business with Huang Baoxin.

At first, Lianqiao's business included the plastics industry, battery industry, rubber (21135, -750, raw materials for the industry and enamel industry**, and then slowly shifted to plastic-based ** and manufacturing business.

At that time, Hong Kong's plastics industry was just starting, and many factories lacked expertise.

With the expansion of the market, the technical requirements of manufacturers have also increased accordingly, Huang Baoxin has used the accumulated knowledge to take the lead in providing manufacturers with technical data information and market intelligence, and introduced some advanced technology from abroad to Hong Kong to promote, and its plastic injection molding machines account for 60% to 70% of the same type of import machines in Hong Kong, becoming the most authoritative supplier in the market.

At the same time, Huang Baoxin, who has maintained good cooperation with some well-known Japanese multinational companies, often takes some Hong Kong plastic manufacturers to visit foreign countries, which not only establishes a good business relationship between plastic raw material suppliers and manufacturers, but also promotes the overall development of Hong Kong's plastics industry.

In 1974, the Hong Kong plastics industry set up the Hong Kong Plastics Raw Materials Association, and Wong Po-yan, who enjoys a reputation in the industry, was elected as the chairman of the chamber and served until 1989. During this period, he led the members to put aside the vicious competition, negotiate and forge with each other, and work together to develop Hong Kong's industry and economy. With his promotion and the joint efforts of the plastics industry, Hong Kong's plastic products have become one of the three pillar industries in Hong Kong.

Huang Baoxin also won the title of "King of Plastic Raw Materials" for his outstanding contribution to the development of Hong Kong's plastics industry.

In 1980, he was awarded the title of Justice of the Peace.
