An English letter usually consists of the following five parts:
a Heading
The letterhead includes the writer's address and the date the letter was written, usually in the upper right corner of the letterhead. In correspondence between friends who are more acquainted, the address of the writer can often be omitted. In this lesson, the letterhead only states the date of the letter, not the address of the person who wrote it. There are usually two ways to set a date:
a) Month, day, year: e.g. August 15, 200
b) Day, month, year: e.g. 15th August, 200
The address is usually written from small to large, such as: house number, street name, city (county) name, province name, country name (postal code is usually written after the city name). This is the exact opposite of the address of a letter in Chinese.
The address can be written in 1 3 lines, and the date is written below the address (see letterhead format).
b Salutation
Salutation refers to the addressee addressed by the letter writer, such as dear xiaojun, written on the lower side of the letterhead and on the left side of the letterhead. The salutation is generally dear....or my dear....At the beginning, a comma is generally used after the salutation.
c Body
This is the main body of the letter, that is, what the writer wants to say. The text requires that the text be smooth, well-layered, and clear. It can be handwritten or written.
d Closing remarks (complimentary close).
It is a compliment at the end of the letter, which is equivalent to the words "good wishes" and "salute" at the end of the letter. The "best wishes" in the epistle of this lesson concludes.
e Signature
The signature is usually signed in the center-right position below the closing sentence, as in the case of Charlie in the letter in this lesson. The signature should be handwritten, even if it is a letter typed by a typewriter, and it must still be signed by handwriting at the end. At the top of the signature, you can write sincerely yours yours sincerely (between elders or friends) or respectfully yours yours respectfully (for elders or superiors), depending on the relationship between the writer and the recipient.

The first thing to look at is the nature of your letter. Is it an official and official letter? Or is it communication between friends?
Either way, the basic English letter format should consist of four main parts: date, title, body, and inscription (including honorifics).
1. Between friends.
October, 16, 2011 (top right).
Dear Jimmy (top left).
i'm glad to receive your letter...Text, with four spaces at the beginning).
Yours sincerely, jack (bottom right, including honorifics and inscriptions).
2. Official and official letters.
The letter should include the addressee address (the tradition used in the West to prevent envelope damage from being left without an address), date, title, text, and payment. In fact, the official letter should refer to point 3, the more comprehensive it is, the more you value them.
250013, new york, the address is also written in the top case, from lowercase to large).
Same as below: 1) october, 16, 2011 (top right).
Dear Jimmy (top left).
i'm glad to receive your letter...Text, with four spaces at the beginning).
Yours sincerely, jack (bottom right, including honorifics and inscriptions).
3. More strict business English letters, including more than a dozen elements. It is very difficult, but it is a must-have for business correspondence in English.
