Bird Language Forest - Chengde Wildlife Rescue Center.
In addition to the birds we bought from other places, a large part of them were rescued and donated here by the citizens of Chengde. Fu Qiang, the person in charge of Bird Language Forest, has a deep understanding of Chengde's awareness of "loving and protecting birds".
In 2004, the public donated 12 birds of various kinds to the Bird Language Forest, most of which belong to the third category of national protected animals.
In Fu Qiang's memory, there are two things that are particularly unforgettable, "There is an old lady in her seventies, and her son is quite filial. In order to change the taste of the elderly, I bought a pheasant (pheasant) for my mother at the market. But the old lady couldn't bear to kill the pheasant, so she gave it to Bird Yulin.
There is also an individual boss in Damiao Town, Shuangluan District, who picked up an injured golden eagle, which belongs to the national first-class protected animal. The individual boss did not hide the golden eagle or sell it privately, but sent it to the Bird Language Forest through the town **. ”
When people find injured birds or animals, they will take the initiative to contact our rescue center or the local forestry bureau, and many rare animals whose lives are dying have been saved. There are many examples that show that our people in Chengde have a strong awareness of wildlife protection. ”
The growing awareness of the people of Chengde to protect wildlife and natural ecology has brought positive consequences; Because of the good protection of the ecological environment, all counties and districts have actively planted trees, and the vegetation has recovered quickly. In the past year or two, the number of wild animals in various mountainous and forest areas of Chengde has increased rapidly. The most obvious example is the No. 1 grassland in northern Beijing, which undertakes the task of "preventing wind and fixing sand, conserving water sources, and protecting Beijing and Tianjin"; In the last century, due to excessive land reclamation, indiscriminate logging, and overloading of livestock, the ecological environment of the first grassland in northern Beijing has been damaged, and common wild animals have disappeared.
Five or six years ago, the first grassland in northern Beijing began to implement projects such as returning farmland to forest, afforestation in Qiansongba, fencing and planting grass, and enclosing grasslands, and the ecological environment of the grassland was rapidly improved, and the natural scenery of deep grass and dense forests reappeared, and some long-lost wild animals such as wolves, foxes, roe deer, badgers, and hares appeared in the grassland and forests again. When the ecological environment is good, not only the animals benefit, but also the people on the grassland. Relying on the development of eco-tourism, the common people in the grasslands of northern Beijing have lived a prosperous and happy life.
