The story of the White Lady tells the story of two snake spirits who have been cultivated into human forms and become girls like flowers and jade, and they came to the world, one under the pseudonym Bai Suzhen and the other with the pseudonym Xiaoqing.
One day they came to the West Lake, and when they were playing, it suddenly rained heavily, and a gentle, white and delicate young scholar Xu Xian held up an umbrella for them. Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian both fell in love with each other, and soon after, they got married.
Two people opened a pharmacy "Boholdo". They cured many people's diseases, and they did not charge money for the poor to see a doctor, and the business got better and better, and people called Bai Suzhen the White Lady. However, there was a monk Fahai who was very jealous of their business, so he came to the pharmacy to see what was going on, and at this time, he found that Bai Suzhen was changed by the white snake, so he wanted to subdue the white snake, destroy the pharmacy, and break up Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian.
Fahai began to persuade Xu Xian, but Xu Xian firmly believed that his lady was kind-hearted and refused to abandon him. Fahai imprisoned Xu Xian in the temple, and Bai Suzhen pressed him under the Leifeng Pagoda. After years of cultivation, Xiaoqing defeated Fahai and rescued the White Lady.
Since then, the White Lady, Xu Xian and their children have lived happily together.
After reading this story, I like Bai Suzhen very much, because although she is a snake spirit, she helps the poor, sees a doctor and saves people, cures many incurable diseases, and relieves people's pain.

According to legend, the white snake spirit in Xu Xian was rescued from the mouth of a bird of prey by an old man surnamed Xu in Xujiagou.
In order to repay the Xu family's life-saving grace, the white snake married Xu Xian, a shepherd boy of the Xu family. After getting married, she often used herbs to treat the villagers, so that the incense of the nearby "Jinshan Temple" gradually fell cold. Monk Fahai, the elder of Jinshan Temple, who was reincarnated by Black Eagle, was very annoyed and determined to destroy Xu Xian's marriage and put the White Lady to death, so he led to the familiar plots such as "stealing fairy grass" and "flooding Jinshan Temple".
