Zong Yi (499-563),[2] the character Yuan Yi, lived in Nieyang (now Dongdong Town, Dengzhou City), and later moved to Jiangling. He was smart and studious at an early age, and was known as a "pediatric bachelor". During the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, Xiao Yizhen, the king of Xiangdong, was recommended by Liu Zhi as the secretary.
He was once ordered to make "Longchuan Temple Tablet", which was completed overnight, and sighed for Xiao Yi. Later, he successively served as the county commander of Linru, Jiancheng and Guangjin. When the king of Xiangdong was in Jingzhou, Ren Zongyi was a special driver and Jiangling order.
In the first year of Chengsheng (552), the king of Xiangdong was the emperor (Emperor Liang Yuan), Ren Zongyi was the squire of Shangshu, and the Marquis of Xin'an County (now Macheng, Hubei Province) was enthroned, and he was moved to the Ministry of Shangshu. The Wei army broke through Jiangling, and Zong Yi went to Guanzhong. In the second year of Taiping (557), Emperor Min of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, Yu Wenjue, ascended the throne, and Bai Zongyi was the general of the chariot and cavalry.
When Emperor Ming (Yuwen Yu), Yi and Wang Bao surveyed the group of books in the Lintoe Palace. There are 20 volumes of anthologies, 4 poems and a compilation of "Jing Chu Years Chronicles". "Jing Chu Chronicles" is Zong's notes, describing the seasons and customs stories of Jing Chu from the first day of the first lunar month to Chinese New Year's Eve, with more than 20 articles, preserving some ancient myths and legends, which have been cited in many later works.

Through "Jing Chu Years of Chronicles", we can trace the development and evolution of many festivals. Zong Yi said in the preface of "Jing Chu Years Chronicle": "The rate is a small record, to record the Jing Chu years, from the first day to the day of the day of the twenty things.
Among the more than 20 kinds of festival customs recorded in the "Jing Chu Year Chronicle", some of them were inherited from the Han Dynasty, such as the Yuan Ri He Zun and the Lari Ritual Stove; Some of them are also found for the first time in the "Jing Chu Years Chronicles", such as the perfume bathing Buddha on April 8, and the camp basin offering to the Buddha on July 15. Even among the festival customs inherited from the Han Dynasty, many of their evolution with the changes of the times were first seen in the "Jing Chu Sui Ji Ji", such as the change of the Lari drive from Fang Xiangshi to "King Kong Lux". Some of the recorded festivals have survived to this day, such as Yuan Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Chongyang, Chinese New Year's Eve, etc.; Some have disappeared, such as Sheri and Lari; Although some festivals have disappeared, the festival customs are still being passed down through new festivals, such as the ritual stove of the day of Lari moved to the small year.
It is the record of "Jing Chu Years Chronicles" that provides valuable information for us to explore the changes in culture during the years.

The Chronicles of the Years of Jingchu is not only a record of the activities of the Jingchu area, but also a record of the author's own and his family's personal experience of social life.
The Dragon Boat Festival of Jing Chu Years says: "Cai Ai is a person, and the door is hung with poisonous gas." ”
The Dragon Boat Festival Zen Festival is hung on the door to avoid evil spirits and travel customs in the Jin and Zhou Dynasty "Wind and Soil Records" has been recorded, but the so-called "Cai Ai for people" was first seen in the "Jing Chu Years Chronicle", and its ** according to its own note: "According to the Zongzhi word degree, try to pick the wormwood when the rooster does not crow on May 5, see like a person, take it, and use it to test." ”
Zong Yi is the fifth generation grandson after Zong Cheng and is the great-grandparent of Zong Yi. Undoubtedly, this is an anecdote passed down by word of mouth in the Zong family, and has been inherited by successive generations. The custom of hanging human-shaped Ai during the Dragon Boat Festival invented by the Zong family evolved into hanging Ai people in later generations, and the Ai people were attached to Zhang Tianshi of Taoism, which was popular all over the country.

Zong Yi's ancestral home is Nanyang Nieyang (now northeast of Deng County, Henan), during the Yongjia Rebellion in the last years of the Western Jin Dynasty, the eighth ancestor moved to Jiangling, and it was suspected that Zong Yi's generation had been more than 200 years. The Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties was a period of frequent wars and turmoil, as well as a period of great migration of ethnic groups. During this period, the convenient transportation caused a large number of cautious displaced people to move into the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and a large number of displaced people moved into the Jingchu area, especially the Jiangling area, into a prosperous area where the population gathered.
The Book of Sui and the Geographical Chronicles of the Second Chronicle contains: "Since the Jin clan moved south, Nanjun and Xiangyang have been important towns, and the four sides have gathered. "The Book of Nanqi Prefecture and County" also contains:
Jiangzuo Town, no more than Jing and Yang. ”
