Change! That is, it will be transformed into three life-saving hairs", saying that this thing "can adapt to the situation when there is no help and no owner, and save you from the disaster of great distress." In other words, the fundamental meaning of these "three life-saving hairs" is to keep "the life of the old grandson" in order to "protect this ordinary monk".
