From the fifth year of Emperor You of the Song Dynasty (1053) to the fourth year of Jiaku (1059), it was built by Cai Xiang, the county guard. The total length is 540 meters, 48 holes, each hole has 7 granite columns, each 11 meters long, 60 cm wide and 50 cm high.
There are 500 fences, 28 stone lions, 7 stone pavilions, and 9 stone towers. Now there are only 3 stone towers and 1 pavilion.
Xiangzi Bridge: also known as Guangji Bridge, now called Yuejin Bridge. It is located in the east of Chaozhou Town, Chao'an County, Guangdong Province, across the Hanjiang River.
China's only special structure of switch-movable large stone bridge, is the world's forerunner of switch-movable bridges. It was built in the sixth year of Song Qiandao (1170), and was destroyed by floods, typhoons, ** and military fires, and rebuilt more than ten times. The total length of the original bridge is 517 95 meters, there are 24 piers at the east and west ends, except for the first hole at both ends for the stone arch bridge, all of them are A-shaped wooden frame beam wooden face bridges.
Nearly 100 meters in the middle, 18 prismatic wooden boats are connected by a pontoon bridge, and the wooden planks on the boats are the bridge deck, which can be opened and closed. The railings on both sides of the bridge deck are carved with a variety of exquisite patterns, and the knife technique is vigorous and vivid. Structurally, the curved flat arch and the small open-shouldered arch give people a sense of lightness and agility of the giant body. The lines are soft in the strong, light and agile in the heavy, and timeless in the majestic.
2. Luoyang Bridge.
Luoyang Bridge: formerly known as "Wan'an Bridge". The earliest existing cross-sea beam type large stone bridge in China, located on the Luoyang River in the eastern suburbs of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, is the beginning of the world's bridge raft foundation, and is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Luoyang Bridge, Song Dynasty Quanzhou Taishou Cai Xiang presided over the bridge construction project. From the fourth year of Emperor You of the Northern Song Dynasty (1053 AD) to the fourth year of Jiayou (1059 AD), it took seven years and cost 14 million taels of silver to build this big stone bridge across the river and the sea. According to historical records, when the bridge was first built, it was 360 zhang long, 1 zhang and 5 feet wide, and the warrior statues were separated on both sides.
The scale of the bridge construction project is huge. The structural technology is superb and famous.
3. Lugou Bridge.
Lugou Bridge, also known as Lugou Bridge, is located on the Yongding River in Fengtai District, about 15 kilometers southwest of Beijing. Named after the crossing of the Lugou River (i.e., Yongding River), it is the oldest existing stone arch bridge in Beijing. The Lugou Bridge is full of meters long, wide meters, and up to meters at its widest point.
