What is the difference between the Western Elysium and the Eastern Pure Glass World?

Pure land, Lebang. The ideal world in which Buddhists believe in a world free of suffering is relative to the "filthy earth" in which secular beings live. The idea of the Pure Land originated very early, and has its roots in some schools of Brahmanism and Theravada Buddhism.

In Brahmanism, the Pure Land is the celestial realm where Vishnu is located. There are groups of lay people in Theravada Buddhism who have believed in the Pure Land and rebirth. But as a systematic school of thought was during the Mahayana Buddhist period.

The Mahayana "Maitreya Sutra on Life" mentions that there is a Pure Land of Tushi Heaven; The Myoho-renge-kyo mentions the Pure Land of the Spiritual Mountains; The Huayan Sutra mentions the lotus Tibetan world; "Medicine Master Liuli Guang Rulai Original Wish Merit Sutra" mentions the Pure Land of Liuli; The Great Treasure Sutra mentions the Pure Land of Joy and Happiness; The Mahayana Tantric Sutra mentions the Pure Land of Tantra and so on. The Sutra of Amitayus, the Sutra of Amitayus, and the Sutra of Amitabha describe in detail the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha and establish the Pure Land sect based on the ideas of the above scriptures. The sect believes that by reciting the Buddha and meditating, one can be reborn in the Elysian Realm at the end of one life.

The leader of Elysium is Amitabha. The Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha, the Pure Land of Maitreya and the Pure Land of Medicine Master are the three major pure lands that Chinese Buddhists believe in.

Buddhism believes that time has no beginning and no end, space is boundless, and the Buddha land (world) is endless, and there is a Buddha in every Buddha land there to educate sentient beings. Elysium is one of these endless worlds. The Amitabha Sutra says that the Elysian World is "ten trillion Buddha lands" away from the "Sampa World" where people live.

In this Elysium, the immeasurable merits are solemn, the country is heard, there are countless bodhisattvas, lecture halls, retreats, palaces, buildings, treasure trees, treasure pools, etc., are solemn with seven treasures, subtle and strict, and the food and drink come at will, and the natural performance of ten thousand kinds of music is the sound of the law. Its countrymen are wise and dignified. But with all kinds of happiness and no suffering, one can approach the right path of the Buddha.

The Amitabha Sutra says that if a good man and a good woman hear about Amitabha Buddha and hold on to the name, they can keep their minds undisturbed from one day or even seven days, and their minds will not be upside down when they are dying, and they will be reborn in the Western Elysium. The glass world where the Oriental Medicine Buddha lives and is inhabited and instructed by the "Medicine Master Nyorai Wish Merit Sutra" and other words is also the ideal land that Buddhists yearn for. The ground there is made of glass, and even the body of the Medicine Buddha is as smooth inside and outside as the glass, so it is called the glass world.

The Buddhist scriptures say that this world, like the Western Elysium, has an indescribable solemnity and beauty; There is no gender difference between men and women, and there is no fault of the five desires; The glaze is the ground, and the golden rope boundary road; The walls and palaces are made of seven treasures. As long as people recite the Medicine Sutra before their deaths, recite the name of Medicine Buddha, and cultivate all goodness, they can be reborn in the glazed world after death.

First of all, the first stop we arrived at was called Mt. Osumu. This mountain is also called Milou Mountain, Miaoguang Mountain, and the name of Great Sumeru is an Indian Brahmin term, which was later quoted by Buddhism. This mountain is said to be located in the very center of the world, and in the hearts of Buddhists, a thousand small worlds are called a small thousand worlds, a thousand small worlds are called one middle thousand worlds, and a thousand middle thousand worlds are a large thousand worlds, and the name "three thousand large thousand worlds" comes from this.

And Mount Oh Sumeru is located in the center of the world, a small world.

In the Buddhist worldview, the lowest layer of each world is a layer of qi, called the wind wheel, and on top of the wind wheel there is a layer of water, called the water wheel, and on top of the water wheel there is a layer of metal and hard stone, called the golden wheel. And above the Golden Wheel are our mountains, rivers, land and sea.

If you look around, Mount Meru is surrounded by the Aral Sea, which is our ocean, and in the Aral Sea there are four continents and eight small continents. Everyone should be familiar with the four continents, that is, Beiju Luzhou, Dongsheng Shenzhou, Xiniuhezhou, and Nanzhan Buzhou in "Journey to the West".

Huaguo Mountain, where Sun Wukong was born, belongs to Dongsheng Shenzhou, and our Dongtu Datang belongs to Nanzhan Buzhou. The villain Wutian Buddha in "Journey to the West" was born in Xiniu Hezhou.

Everyone should not have heard of the eight small continents, which are called Tihazhou, Vitihazhou, Shadizhou, Shangyi Zhou, Shamala Island, Raft Shamala Island, Julaba Island, and Laba Island.

One says life, the other says death.

One can benefit in life, and the other will be reborn in the Pure Land of Bliss after death.

It is easy to be reborn in the Pure Land of Bliss.

We often recite Medicine Buddha who dispels disasters and prolongs life.

In fact, reciting Amitabha Buddha is the same as eliminating disasters and prolonging life. The same life benefits.

All Buddhas are one, and all of them are the same.

Whether it is in the East (reciting the Medicine Sutra) or in the West (reciting the Amitabha Sutra), no Buddha is one.
