Why are there monks? Why some people become monks

If there is a person who does not have these kinds of suffering, then he really doesn't have to think about cultivation, but unfortunately it is very unfortunate, whether you are rich and rival the country, or you are in power and the opposition, you cannot avoid these sufferings: the suffering of birth, the suffering of old age, the suffering of sickness, the suffering of death, the suffering of love and separation, the suffering of resentment, the suffering of not asking for it, and the suffering of the five aggregates. Modern people just avoid these, deceiving themselves into thinking that these sufferings are all other people's and will not happen to me, even if I see my loved ones die, except for sadness, I rarely think that one day death will also manifest itself in us, how will we die, is it painful to die, and where will we go after death?

We never thought that our bodies would always be healthy, our feelings would always exist, and our loved ones would always be with us? Is it possible? Some people want to be liberated from these sufferings, so the Buddha said the Dharma so that we can practice the Dharma and eventually be liberated.

There are many more amazing people who not only realize their own suffering, but also think that all sentient beings around me have such suffering, and that I am not the only one who wants to be free from these sufferings, but I want all beings to be able to get rid of these sufferings and get true happiness, which is called "bodhichitta in Buddhism", and the Buddha followed their foundation and taught them the Mahayana Dharma.

There are two main reasons why celebrities become monks

1. Disheartened because of setbacks and hardships in the world, escaping from reality and pursuing a pure life in a different world.

2. Impressed by the breadth and profundity of Buddhism, they develop a strong renunciation and set their hearts to solve the problems of life and death. This is a matter for a husband, and it is not within the power of the emperor. Admirable. Most of them should be in this category.

I have encountered hurdles that I can't get over, and I have seen through the red dust.

Seeing the warmth and coldness of the world, there is no obstacle.

Monks are mostly called "monks", and monks are originally an honorific title, and only those who have certain qualifications to be able to be teachers can be called monks, not everyone can be called monks. Monk is the transliteration of the ancient Western Regions language, the source is Sanskrit, the original meaning is "teacher", is the honorific title of "monk with a certain degree of cultivation", this title is not limited to men, and the qualified women can also be called monks. However, from ancient times to the present day in China and Japan, it is customary to refer to the general term of male monks.

Harmony is the collective name of the Three Realms. Shang means high. The title of "monk" in the Sino-Tibetan world can only be called by Shakya, but later generations did call all the monks monks, because after Shakyamunia, the living bhikshu was the first blessed field in the world.
