Wang Xu said that at present, Guangxi has "basically agreed" to merge Fangchenggang and Qinzhou, "of course, the specific details have not yet been determined."

Wang Xu said that if the three cities merge, Beihai will be used as an administrative center, mainly to develop tourism, while Fangchenggang and Qinzhou can focus on Linhai heavy chemical industry, "has begun to layout, such as the previously decided Wuhan Iron and Steel part of the relocation project to Fangchenggang is underway, when Wuhan Iron and Steel will have more than 100,000 people to move to Fangchenggang."

Today's prefecture-level Beihai City has jurisdiction over Haicheng District, Yinhai District, Tieshan Port District, and Hepu County. (2) Split out of prefecture-level Fangchenggang City:

In 1984, Fangchenggang District and Beihai City were listed as one of the 14 coastal open cities in the country. In March 1985, Fangchenggang District was set up as a prefecture-level establishment.

On May 23, 1993, Fangcheng Autonomous County and Fangchenggang District were abolished, and a new prefecture-level Fangchenggang City was established.

Today's prefecture-level Fangchenggang City has jurisdiction over the port area, Fangcheng District, Dongxing City, and Shangsi County.

(3) The remaining part of the Qinzhou area is established as a prefecture-level Qinzhou City

In 1983, Beihai City was upgraded to a prefecture-level city; Qinzhou County was also withdrawn from the county and established as a city, and it is still the administrative seat of Qinzhou District.

In 1994, Qinzhou City was upgraded to a prefecture-level city, the Qinzhou area was abolished, and the remaining jurisdictions of the original Qinzhou area were placed under the jurisdiction of the prefecture-level Qinzhou City.

Today's prefecture-level Qinzhou City has jurisdiction over Qinnan District, Qinbei District, Lingshan County, and Pubei County. Among them, the call for Lingshan County to withdraw from the county and set up districts (or cities) is very high, because the total population of Lingshan County is as high as 1.7 million, making it the third most populous county in Guangxi.

Qinzhou, Beihai and Fangchenggang used to belong to the same jurisdiction, but they were divided into three after the reform and opening up.

A long time ago, the northern defense of Qinbei was part of the same jurisdiction. During the period, the attribution between the two Guangxi also came and went. Before the 80s of the last century, Qinbei Defense also belonged to the Qinzhou region.

Since the reform and opening up, the three cities have been divided, Beihai is the first to be divided into prefecture-level cities, and Fangchenggang City has also been divided out in the 90s. After that, Qinzhou was withdrawn and established as a city. Three prefecture-level cities have been formed.

Therefore, some Qinzhou people will say that Fangchenggang and Beihai City are separated from Qinzhou.

The reason is very simple, Qinbei defense is from Guangdong to Guangxi, Guangxi is not divided into pieces, otherwise the Qinzhou region will surpass Nanning sooner or later, Nanning feels very faceless, so it will dismantle Qinzhou!

Since the reform and opening up, the three cities have been divided, Beihai City is the first to be set up as a prefecture-level city, and Fangchenggang City has also been set aside in the 90s. After that, Qinzhou was withdrawn and established as a city. Three prefecture-level cities have been formed.

Guangxi is developed in Qinzhou, Qinzhou is developed in Qinbei, and Qinbei is developed in Dayuan Yingshan Tourist Area.
