Judging from the results of the exploratory salvage of the Nanhai cultural relics in recent years, no bones of ancient people have been found. So, when the Nanhai sank, did the people on board escape?
Some experts speculate that since most of the gold objects such as belts, rings, and bracelets that have been brought out of the water on the Nanhai are ornaments, and the quantity is small, they should not be ocean-going goods, but are most likely worn by wealthy merchants on board. According to this inference, when the Nanhai sank, if the wealthy merchants on board had escaped in time, they should not have thrown away all the gold bracelets, belts, and rings they were wearing before escaping, so it is possible that they were buried in the sea with the Nanhai.
The "Nanhai" is located at a depth of 20 meters below the surface of the sea and is covered by silt more than 2 meters thick. What is amazing is that the hull of this ancient ship, which has been sunk to the bottom of the sea for more than 800 years, is quite well preserved, and the whole ship does not turn over, does not have sides, but sits on the bottom of the sea, and the wood of the hull is relatively hard.
During the preliminary exploration of the "Nanhai", a small number of pieces of wood on the hull were also found. Wei Jun said that some of the wood blocks are made of masson pine. Pinus massoniana is mostly found in southern China, such as Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and other places.
Therefore, it is highly likely that the birthplace of the "Nanhai" is South China.
Why can the "Nanhai" survive underwater for 800 years without decaying? Professor Xu of the School of Biological Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University, who is in charge of the "Nanhai" water environment research group, said that there are two main reasons why the "Nanhai" is still well preserved after being immersed for more than 800 years: First, the underwater environmental oxygen concentration of the "Nanhai" sinking is low.
A study of the silt around the wreck found that there were many organisms in the silt, but none of them survived, suggesting that the hull was surrounded by a very good anaerobic environment. Second, the material used in the "Nanhai" is pine. According to Cantonese folk sayings:
The water blisters are thousand-year-old pines, and the wind blows the thousand-year-old cedars. This shows that pine wood is a good shipbuilding material with good resistance to immersion.

The chances of survival on the Nanhai No. 1 ship are small, but it cannot be ruled out that someone will survive. Nu Skin may be because there is no contact with oxygen and no chemical reaction.
Personal opinion, without any basis.
-
No one survived, because the more the wood invaded the water, the more durable it became.

In 1987, when the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau and the British Ocean Exploration Company were searching for the wreck of the East India Company in the waters of Yangjiang, they accidentally salvaged more than 200 pieces of porcelain from a Song Dynasty merchant ship. The archaeological community believes that it may be related to the Maritime Silk Road, which attracted the attention of the world, and the ship was named "Nanhai".
In 2000, the archaeological department conducted a formal survey of the Nanhai.
In April 2001, the Underwater Archaeology Research Center of the Chinese Museum of History, together with the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, a total of 12 members of the underwater archaeology team searched for and located the shipwreck site.
From March to May 2002, the underwater archaeological team was launched again to excavate and salvage the shipwreck, and more than 4,000 cultural relics were recovered.
In October 2003, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture held an expert discussion meeting on the "Overall Salvage Plan for the Nanhai".
In November 2003, Lei Yulan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, presided over a meeting to plan and approve the construction project of "Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum".
In March 2004, Guangdong Province agreed to raise funds to build the Maritime Silk Road Museum on Shili Silver Beach, Hailing Island, Yangjiang City.
On December 28, 2005, the construction of the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum began.
On January 16, 2007, the archaeological team went to the wreck area to carry out the last seabed exploration before salvage, and then carried out the salvage that lasted for more than nine months.
On 21 December 2007, the ancient shipwreck of the "Nanhai" was hoisted, and at 10 a.m. on 22 December, the "Nanhai" launching ceremony was held at the scene.
In 2008, the Crystal Palace opened to welcome visitors from all over the world.
It has been determined to adopt the "overall salvage" plan, the shipwreck, cultural relics and the surrounding sea water, sediment in accordance with the original state of the one-time lifting, and then moved to the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum of the "Crystal Palace", the salvage and construction of the Guangdong Maritime Silk Museum Crystal Palace funds will cost 100 million yuan: salvage funds 70 million + the construction of the museum 160 million.

Nanhai No. 1 is a shipwreck that sank in the waters of the South China Sea in Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, China, after transporting porcelain through the Maritime Silk Road in the early Southern Song Dynasty. It was first discovered in 1987, but research has been delayed due to technical and financial issues. It will provide extremely rare physical materials for the reconstruction of the history of the Maritime Silk Road, the history of ceramics, and even obtain information that cannot be provided by documents and terrestrial archaeology.
At the end of April 2011, the second test excavation of the ancient shipwreck "Nanhai I" was completed, laying the foundation for its overall excavation.

1.Analysis of the reasons for not rotting: aThe wooden anti-skid section of the wooden boat has a strong anti-skid section rot effect;
b.The paint and glue of the wooden boat itself play a good role in anti-corrosion;
c.The constant temperature and temperature of the seabed have a certain effect on anti-corrosion;
d.The composition of the water quality in the area is the regeneration of microorganisms and the slow flow of water in certain ravines.
2.Purpose and significance analysis: "Nanhai No. 1" is located in the channel of the "Maritime Silk Road", and the number and variety of its "collections" are extremely rich and valuable, providing the most credible and credible model for the study of this period of history, and the exploration and excavation of the envy resources in these underwater cultural relics can restore and fill a historical gap closely related to the "Maritime Silk Road" in ancient China, and it is also likely to bring about the rise of "Maritime Silk Road Studies".
3.Research direction: from the hull structure, manufacturing, micro-processing and other directions to study the development of nautical technology.
4.For anaerobic preservation, the entire hull is placed in a large glass box and inert gas is fed.
