Robinson Crusoe

I'm a big fan of adventures**, and one of the things that impressed me was Robinson Crusoe.

Robinson was born into a middle-class family in England. As a young man, he left home and went on adventures overseas. Once shipwrecked at sea, he drifted alone to a deserted island.

At first, he was very pessimistic, but later, in order to survive, he moved clothes, fresh water, food, tools, etc. from the broken ship and started a new life. He grows grain, domesticates goats, and obtains enough things. A few years later, a group of people came here to hold a human feast, and he rescued a wild man and named him "Friday".

After that, Friday became his faithful friend and servant. After living on the island for 28 years, they returned to England on a British ship that passed through a desert island.

When I finished reading this book, I was struck by Robinson's adventurous, hard-working spirit. He drifted to the desert island, not only was he not pessimistic and disappointed, but also took advantage of the conditions on the island to plant and domesticate, making the desert island a paradise where he could live freely. We can also see that he is a physically and mentally healthy, hardworking and enterprising man.

On a desolate island, he had to fight alone with wind, rain, thunder and lightning, mosquitoes and beasts. He also has to face the threat of death and the hardships of survival. But in the end, his spirit did not collapse, but he lived optimistically, creating life with his own hands and creating tomorrow.

In the eyes of others, all this is not easy and admirable.

Another impression I had of Robinson Crusoe was its authenticity. Take, for example, the detail of Robinson's shipbuilding. The author gives a clear account of the whole process of Robinson's shipbuilding and its details.

From felling, cutting off roots, scraping into a boat, hollowing out the interior, etc., down to every detail, such as some dimensions, movements, time, etc. Take a look at sentences like this. "Closer to the roots, it was five feet and an inch in diameter, and at the end of twenty-two feet, it was four feet and an inch in diameter, and then slowly cut it down and divided into branches.

It took me countless hours to cut down the tree, and it took me twenty-two days to cut off its roots. ......There are many more sentences like this. It is these sentences that paint a clear picture that makes people feel real and intimate.

The most attractive part of Robinson Crusoe is the thrilling, novel, and real personal experience of the protagonist, but its deep attraction is indeed the resonance of the loneliness of ordinary human beings in the reader's heart. We can all find ourselves in this book, so there's no reason not to love it.
