On August 8, 2008, the 29th Olympic Games were held in Beijing, the capital of China. China, which has one-fifth of the world's population, has finally ushered in its own Olympic year.
After failing to bid for the Olympic Games in 1991, China regrouped again in 1998, and Beijing bid for the Olympic Games for the second time, becoming one of the five candidate cities for the 29th Summer Olympics in 2008. This time, China seized the opportunity to bring the flame to the dragon's homeland.
The Beijing Olympic Games is a sports event that has left a glorious page in the history of the Olympic movement. A total of more than 10,000 athletes from 204 countries and regions participated in the competition, with 28 major events and 302 sub-events. There were 21,600 journalists covering the Games.

The XIX Olympic Games were held in Mexico. The 19th Summer Olympic Games, the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games, were held in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, and were held from October 12 to 27, 1968.
The 19th Olympic Games were invited by 112 countries and regions to participate in the competition, and the number of participating units exceeded 100 for the first time.
The XIX Olympic Games also saw the first official gender and doping checks, with two doping violations.
The choice of Mexico City, the capital of the 19th Olympic Games, as the host city was controversial at the time, because the altitude of Mexico City is 2,300 meters, the air contains 30% less oxygen, and the highland climate is a great challenge for the participating athletes.
